Why do all these filthy twats wear a Ferguson type jacket and mimic his mannerisms on the touchline

Is it supposed to be a psychological thing for the fans 😂

Not long back from a Conservation talk.

I can't believe that Chelsea and Man United BOTH fluffed it this evening - I'd have snatched your hand off for one of them slipping up.

We're still very much the outsiders but it's an opening.

They probably have enough of a cushion to avoid a slip as West Ham aren't getting enough points, but bloody Hell, Spurs couldn't half use a couple of results.

A potential opening ultimately only means something if you've got the ability to make use of it. Is anyone other than the odd individual here and there confident that we'll capitalise on those dropped points? I'm not.

I'm not confident of a win tonight, no.

We're not at our best and Sunderland are unbeaten at Home.

However, the fact that it is a c-h-a-n-c-e to get within 3 points of the Mancs, versus where we could have been after tonight in the worst-case-scenario of them beating West Ham while we lose to Sunderland......I'll absolutely take it.

At present the Head says we aren't getting a Champion's League spot but the Heart wants what it wants and as long as we remain semi-realistically capable, I'm naturally invested - especially while we still have "six-pointers" to come late in the season.

    Fingers and toes tightly crossed.

We're probably going to need a 4 or 5 game winning streak. Hopefully we start tonight.

All sunderland need to do is mark hugo & Wirtz out the game and hope they're not on it

Gakpo and salah aren't exactly a problem

Bournemouth have even scored more goals than us.... fuck the wide players.

    I'm inclined to agree.

I think we're looking at needing maybe 12 points ( absolute minimum 10 points) from the next five -

    Sunderland
    Nottingham Forest
    West Ham (Anfield)
    Wolves
    Tottenham (Anfield)

    - to get ourselves back into the Top Five (ideally Top Four) and set ourselves up for those potentially monumental matches later in the season where we face Villa, Chelsea and Man United.

How "leggy" the squad looks does concern me a lot. We need a run of form, we need a couple of "favours" and we probably need a mad last-ditch winner type of game to re-energise things mentally - that or navigating our Champion's League tie comfortably - just something to give the lads a lift.

IF we can win tonight - and they are due a loss at home at some point... then we have to match United.. new manager bounce surely wane's at some point.. Beat them at Old Shythouse.. and it's on.. Have to keep Chelsea in our sights too. Can also be done they are very erratic...a good amount of games left.

BUT mostly we need to be far more BOLD. I don't know why we aren't able to just - blow away - some of these sides with such inferior players... It's time..
