it was mentioned a few times in commentary today that we were creating more through attacking quicker and not playing the extra pass all the time now that’s on Slot not Wirtz but we won the league last season and had the best midfield 3 in the league not playing the extra pass.

Part of Gakpo’s and Mo’s issues for me are they’ve stopped making runs in behind because we stopped playing the longer balls when they were on and kept playing an extra pass instead of trying to release a player, Ekitike has suffered from it a lot too

I really don’t know what Slot was thinking wanting us to play extra needless passes and trying to claim it was better to watch, it was awful, love to see what Wirtz can do playing it when it’s on

I’d be interested to see Gakpo at false 9 Mo RFWD and Ekitike inside LFWD for a 15-20 spell of a game

Would need Robbo instead of Kerkez though as he supports the forwards positions and helps them work the space a lot better and puts quality in far more regularly
