It's there in a 4-3-3 or as the 10-role in a 4-2-3-1 or a 4-4-2 Diamond which I still think could be excellent with the right balance. Kerkez and Frimpong are certainly capable of providing that width.
Watching the drubbing of Leverkusen the players still playing Jurgen’s way it’s so obvious Diaz who just wanted a pay rise was the fulcrum of so much and exactly what the team needed as demonstrated in part by Rio v Wolves and that the ineffectual Wirtz wasn’t if Diaz really was insistent on leaving he needed to be replaced with better not Wirtz

Wirtz needs a slower paced less physical league he’s no Bobby or De Bruyne

Such as it is he only really fits in at LCM in a 433

A lot of it is the result jf Slot trying to make everything go through Wirtz and taking away all our brilliant directness and cut and thrust, intensity and tempo

Slot trying to make it his own with his own ideas has been the problem he just needed to stick with the winning formula style of play and type of players suited to it and never should have had his fantasy backed 300m on 2 numbers 9s and an unsuccessful playmaker 10 while not giving Diaz a pay rise and not replacing him

He wants to play 3412 I’m sure and it won’t work in this league

He won with Jurgen’s players doing exactly what thry had always done through the attribute they had they were bought to do

4-0 drubbing with Wirtz completely ineffectual against the power face intensity and tempo of a top
premier Keagur side with Wirtz completely ineffectual dominated by Tsimikas so he bug Wirtz and gets rid of Diaz and Tsimi what a clown

To be fair that was a very well thought out response, a little long winded but got me convinced for one.

As far as the midfield goes I’d like to see Slit revert to 433 we looked far better than in a long time in the recent FA Cup game against Wolves with Gakpo at false 9 and the midfield making a 3 a lot of the time. This with Szobo playing at right back often becoming the third midfielder when one had joined the attack as a 10

It made us less easy to play through or down the side off and saw our press and counter press become very effective again

I think it’s the best use of the players from now until the end of the season it will need Ekitike or Rio to play LFWD though and work better with Robbo playing LB for his greater ability with the ball abd positioning to support LFWD
