Hopefully balancing out the squad make-up a bit over the next window or two - and likely a managerial change - will help bring the best out of the number of quality players we have, as we definitely aren't a "bad" side even if we have been performing like one in many sense for too long a period.
Yes because we didn’t need Wirtz or two number 9’s

Slot’s plan is/was to play 3412 with Frimpong and Kerkez supposedly providing the width and service

    It’s a complete non starter

19 will watch the game again and still say ‘his man’ Konate was the best player on the pitch.

On Rio from the BBC and this is what I saw
    too:

Liverpool head coach Arne Slot finally bowed to the demands to unleash Rio Ngumoha from the start, the 17-year-old demonstrating what all the fuss and excitement is about with a thrilling display.
Following Max Dowman's brilliant goalscoring cameo in Arsenal's win against Everton, Ngumoha showed further evidence of a bright future for England as he stood out, despite being surrounded by the mediocrity of his Liverpool team-mates.
Ngumoha was a constant threat in one-on-one duels and was always willing to strike on goal, in a performance showing a vision and invention beyond other more experienced players around him.
But the teenager aside, Liverpool lacked urgency and creation and invited the trouble that eventually led to Richarlison punishing Slot's side at the end.

Put this lad in a Klopp team and he is ripping it up. But with this dross even star players look turgid. Slots game is killing the players and the Anfield atmosphere

We made them look good. We are in a situation now that's becoming damaging in my opinion, playing awful football with a manager who is like a vacuum in terms of positivity. He's fucking ruined a good thing.
I just do not see how any fan can be supporting this crap anymore.
Absolutely when it was announced Jurgen was leaving his system and style should have been put in place as the club system that any manager coming in had to stick with, like at Brighton

It is still relevant it has style and entertainment and has been successful for 10 years only a bunch of complete idiots would try and bin it and recruit fir something neither the players or manager had played, in a multinational billion pound industry everyone must realise how completely bonkers that it

I see us sacking him if look like we are drifting towards being mathematically out of CL race which may not become apparent until it's too late, as in after the Utd Chelsea or Villa games in May. It's as if Arne has been told it's a 2 year rebuild (starting June 2025) and he can have us serving up dogshit until Aug 2027 and his job is safe. Cos that's the attitude that's oozing out of the whole place

He stood out because we kept giving him the ball, he didn’t produce or create anything though it’s just a marker of how poor we’ve. been in attacking like that because Slit wanted to play differently, same reason we’re poor at finishing off simple counter attacks he also knocked on the head, we’re out of practice

Who else did? Did our senior CF? What about anyone else? Dom only scores because Vicario had a mare.

Be fair he is playing in an awful Liverpool side this season. No invention - Slow turgid interplay - Rio was the only one doing the right things. Another player doing that today and we win

And why did we keep giving the ball? Because he was the ONLY threat. But he was doubled up on. He’s 17.

He needed to go end of Ictober as @Tees points out we haven’t looked like improving or the way he wanted to play working his press conferences give away he still believes he’s right and it just isn’t working because he doesn’t have Ekitike and Isak both available

    Alisson

    Gomez Konate Van Dijk

    Frimpong Szobo Grav Kerkez

    Wirtz

    Isak_____Ekitike

That’s what those clowns think will be better than the system and team he inherited

He misjudged and misconstrued several long crossfields

He kept coming in instead of keeping the width

He beat a player about twice

Gakpo was up for the game and played well, Macca too, Nyoni was good when he came on

The knee jerk of benching Konate was stupid Gomez hugely at fault for the late goal just as he was v Wolves he shouldn’t be anywhere near CB
