Klopp would have told the players they could win. Told them we had a chance. Slot set us up to keep the score down & made us feel inferior. Is it any wonder the players seem to lack confidence?

I think Slot has an impact on Macca as well. The old hes not fit and all that crap. hes played like hes not fit.. And how hes treat Chiesa is pathetic as well, I dunno why he even gets on our bench. If hes not up to it fine. But in 2 years almost.. Hes never had one chance to have more than 1 game in a row and even then, I would say hes started less than 10 matches and most of them have been in the cups..Originally Posted by KingCanny

Rodgers post-Suarez team were bad as he had to buy Lambert and Mario Balotelli to replace him while Sturridge entered his injury phase. Stevie was finished. Slot has no excuse

The problem with us being a massive draw for 95% of managers is that we are bigger than 99.999% of football clubs/sports teams, and as such we should only be interested in the top 0.001% of managers.
As it stands there should be three obvious candidates to become our next manager, Klopp who isn't going to be tempted to come back unless FSG do what I've previously suggested they do (which they won't), Enrique who won't be leaving PSG, Alonso who will want to manage a team who will be playing in the CL, and maybe someone who could be the next big thing e.g. Fabregas. If we're not in the CL we become less attractive to those managers, especially the last three.
Whilst FSG are our owners and they allow the likes of Edwards and Hughes to have control over transfers both in and out of the club, no manager is going to have the freedom to mould the team as much as they want to. The only person who might be allowed to do that is Klopp, and that's only because I think that amongst other requirements he would want control over transfers if he was to come back to us.

Lovren 20 million. Okish again but made countless errors and in reality wasn't a success

Aspas 7 million.. Only thing i can remember him doing is crossing the ball over for a corner that led to Chelsea's second

I'm really not trying to sound dismissive of what you're saying, but of all the worries we have at the moment, the ability to attract a decent Manager just doesn't rank highly for me - I still think loads would jump at the chance to come here and there should be a number of respectable candidates in the Summer available to us.

Macca has (sadly) been nothing like his best self since the groin and hip (?) issues that led to the surgery in the Summer.
I'd absolutely love him to turn it around, but the inner ruthless/rebuild streak makes me wonder if selling him to part-fund a younger, physically more capable player might be worthwhile now.
Really hope he rediscovers his best in a Red shirt. Absolutely brilliant on his day, which we sadly haven't really seen for about a year now.
