Really? Still spent less than Arsenal last summer.

Ekitike's injury is going to really put a spanner in the works.
What a truly frightening thought it is that he'll be at the helm next season with even less than he has to work with now.
Im hoping it's a show of sour grapes because he knows he's getting the boot

Camavinga won't be too popular at Real Madrid just now.

Wonder what they'd say to £70m or so?

It’s fucking idiotic. I think Slot has accepted this in return to remain as manager.

    Recipe for utter disaster.
The problem is we threw all our eggs in the basket of Isak and Wirtz pretty much. Wirtz wasn't what we needed and Isak's been injured all season and we also got Ekitike who plays the same role.

In previous years the sell-to-buy partially worked because we bought carefully. The only big splurges were on VVD and Alisson who were proven. TBF Isak should have been the same but we haven't seen him play really.

If we sell more players our squad is going to be awful next season. We're already miles off the depth we had last season.

Oh and here’s a thought - let’s not spunk another load of dosh on a ‘brain fart’ of a player who has been sent off in the dying embers of CL quarter final games in successive seasons.

I'm not usually a big critic of the owners, as I think by in large they have done pretty well over the years. But one thing that is strking (and quite surprising tbh) is the players that we've let go on a free transfer. I know we like to sell ourselves as a 'sell to buy' club but we've let the following players all leave for nothing.

    Firmino
    Trent
    Salah
    Robbo

And it's highly likely that VVD and Ali will follow suit.

There's £0.3 billion worth of players that have been allowed to leave for nothing. Now i'm glad that we've kept hold of these players but it's surpirising that the owners haven't cashed in on them.

It's a fair point. At least we got was it 10m for Trent? If we picked up at least small fees for the others it would maybe help to buy a 50m player. The Salah one, I think they should have given him a one year and then review. Because they gave him the two year contract, they probably just want him off the books now.

Really - What do you think happens in cost terms if they try to replace any of the mentioned with like for like quality.. You know - like elite clubs try to do..?

What's surprising is how many Liverpool fans miss the grift that has taken place on F$G's watch. I have mentioned the profit they have made from this club many times...most just want to look at what Klopp achieved and forget the reality.

Klopp's brilliance masked their game brilliantly....and even that was success utterly dependent on the mahusive Coutinho sale to build the backbone of the squad. A squad he had to rinse well enough to make us look elite.

Workhorse.... Midfield for years, Klopp relied on Henderson, Fabinho, and Wijnaldum. They were elite at executing the system, but the lack of high-level rotation meant they were essentially run into the ground by 2022/23. It was always 'boom and bust' Had to be... how else do you compete at over 95 points with squads as thin as ours were even at our zenith. To compete in all those comps - genuinely compete as we did with Jurgen - you need a much bigger senior group. This is where the net spend was laughable.. This is where the self sustain model is UNWORKABLE even with a Klopp in situ - for long. If a keita or an Oxlade show they cannot prove their fitness - you sell them on at a loss and replace. This never happened. The owners have kicked the can down the road. AND last summers panic a year on from Klopp after HIS team won the title was beyond obvious.
