    Wonder what our budget is?

I'd love a right-back to come in, but if I thought we had (entirely made-up speculative number) a Ł200m NET budget for the Summer, I wouldn't place right-back as our biggest priority by any stretch.

If (and it is just that right now isn't it? There's so much speculation as to what may happen) we end up with a 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 that requires decent wide players, I'd be wanting two quality wide players and a defensive mid all wrapped up before we touched the right-back issue.

As long as Slot is still in charge it doesn't matter who we sign. We could sign a prime Maradona, Messi and Maldini, yet Slot would find some way to get them playing like Sean Dundee, Erik Meijer, and Titus Bramble.

It does feel like next season will be.....turbulent, that's for sure.

My main hope is that a player coming in to shore up the space in front of the defence, complimented by some pace and goal threat out wide, might actually lift us a bit - though just how much "a bit" is and whether or not it will actually happen.....huge question marks.

I'd far rather we changed manager, but if it is to be Slot, then I hope he can find something of what he had at Feyenoord or last season with us.

The energy/conditioning of the players and the permission to go on breaks is a huge concern. The "benefit of the doubt" in me wonders if Slot is struggling massively with having his family in a different country and how much that might be impacting things.

Hopefully he can find a job in Holland close to his family and we can find a Manager that better suits our requirements, not to mention our expectations about style of play.

He does my head in, but I don't want to harbour genuine resentment for a man at the helm when we got no. 20 so hope there is a resolution that suits all parties.

Problem is Slot is determined to push everyone forward. In Grav and even Mac, we have players who are more than capable of being a 6 and 4. Grav did it last season.

Lets say we do bring in a Wharton, the issue wont suddenly fix itself if he's asked to play the same way as Grav and/or Mac.

There are lots of issues with Slot being manager but if fundementaly he's not tactically sound then it's a real problem and all of the other stuff becomes more of a problem. My issue is that he just doesn't seem to be able to see it despite it being an issue all season. And I genuinely don't think he'll get to preseason and just figure it out.

He did use a 4231 at Feyenoord, but I didn't watch any their games so I don't know if the 6 and 4 played the same way. Maybe they did, but your less likely to get punished in the Eeridvisie compared to the Prem.

The Anfield wrap discussion after sunday's game was basically saying our issues won't be solved by recruitment. It's not a player problem we have.

Agreed. I'd be happy to play Jones, Gomez or even Endo at a push. Then we have Frimpong and Bradley who are first choice when fit (which is rare!). DM has to be top priority. Then the wings as you say. Have no faith that Slot is the man to rebuild us but who knows....if we get some more quality in....it might get us back on track. We need to get our top players back fit and keep them fit too. Isak, Frimpong, Bradley all out for huge chunks of this season. Alisson too. That really has hurt us especially when trying to rebuild.
From the moment I picked your book up until I laid it down, I convulsed with laughter. Someday I intend on reading it. Groucho Marx

If we're still having to play the likes of Jones, Endo, and Gomez next season, we're likely going to be in even more trouble than we first thought. Things are liable to be even worse if we're going to be relying on the likes of an injury prone Bradley and a neither one thing nor the other Frimpong.

We need quality players in the DM, CB, CM and RW positions. On top of that it could be argued that both FB positions are still an area of concern.

Need a new top quality keeper. Two of our biggest mistakes last summer was selling 2 players that would significantly improve our team right now, Diaz and Kelleher.

Last summer is currently looking like a disaster although I still have hope for Kerkez, Wirtz and Ekitike.

Not giving the extra 5million earlier in the market for Guehi was also a major mistake and letting him go to city.

This summer is massive. We need too many players though to get us back to the top.

Gk, cb, rb, lb, dm, LW (or someone that play across the front 3), rw.

Worried that any targets will look at the fallout between players and slot, playing under slot isnt going to attract players and is possibly why robbo, jones, salah, alisson not to bothered about going and others could be tempted if decent clubs come sniffing around in the summer.

Liverpool are plotting a move to sign 30-year-old Inter Milan and Netherlands defender Denzel Dumfries to bolster their options at right-back. (Football Insider)

Another Dutch import what could possibly go wrong??
With a name like Dumfries. he should go play in Scotland.
