    Slot To Be Fired?

Heard from a couple of different people this evening that Slot is now to be fired after the final game.

Craig Houlden Anfield Agenda ( yeah I know) but he is live streaming now and is saying has it from a very reputable respected journalist that he’s gone.

He’s been told a name but won’t divulge as he can’t guarantee that part is definite.

He also said that Alonso wasn’t approached because of the brand of football. Says the club are in agreement with Salah about us getting back to Heavy Metal football

No I know that many don’t think Houlden is even slightly connected, however he does have 380,000 subscribers and does talk to a number of very well connected journalis

Interested to know has anyone else heard anything similar?

I watch Craig from time to time. he gets information a lot of the time and from "various" people and half the time it's nonsense.
Will have to see what happens. And the bit about Alonso and his playing style. I think that bit is true though.

He’s saying we have been speaking to Sebastian Hoeness

That would be a big risk imo

But to be fair to Craig on Anfied Agenda and most of our fans including you and me Miller. I think it's obvious now, Slot's job has become untenable.

Hes had time to change things around and improve results.. We are not currently the best team about. But we should be getting more wins and better results

The people who thought keeping Slot on longer than he should have been here (from November when he should have been fired, IMHO) or that Slotball is a thing that LFC needed post-Klopp era, .....shouldn't be in a position to be dictating to any new incoming manager about style or brand of football.

They knew what Slot's brand of football was before they hired him (lack of pressing, lack of intensity...) and yet they still hired him to take over from Klopp.

And they're only saying they're in agreement with Mo's statement re: heavy metal football, because they know that's where the masses (the fanbase) are and that Mo's very popular with fans, so that's where they should appear like they are as well.

I don't know how much there is to any of this (re: Craig's reliability and the Anfield Agenda's connectedness).
It is after all, silly season....when every club is signing every player and or/manager under the sun and we're linked to anyone not tied down.
And that kind of reporting tends to bring in the clicks - especially for a fanbase that's desperate for a change like ours is.

That said, I'm now mostly confident that the Edwards/Hughes combo that's already fumbled the Slot firing decision will fuck up the decision to replace him just as much.

I'm genuinely worried that none of this ends with Slot's departure from the club (be it now, after the season in the summer or sometime next season).

    But it's a start.

Mentioned him a few times in the past as have others, but not one of the "top top" figures in management at the moment so is going to get some "who?" responses, just as Slot did.

Been Stuttgart manager since March or April of 2023, pretty good win percentage at 55% over a good span of games (140-160 odd by now) with them, though undeniably fans may be concerned about his time at Hoffenheim, which is a tricky one as they aren't one of the more elite sides you wouldn't necessarily "expect" them to have a massive win percentage.

Very vertical passing style for his teams - counter-attacks, Klopp-lite if you will. You'll see a 4-2-3-1 a lot but it's a bit asymmetrical, with play tending to be biased towards the left flank. A semi-worthwhile comparison in terms of biasing play to the left flank would be that of Fernando Diniz who did some fascinating stuff with Fluminese - highly experimental - the sort of stuff you definitely want to watch to see something "different" but might feel hesitant about watching if it's your own team due to the high risk aspect.

His Hoffenheim team had Kramaric in it I remember - he had a serious hot streak at one point and I was keen on him as a low-risk punt for squad depth, ended up at Leicester for a bit.

The 4-2-3-1 can transition into a 3-5-2 at times, counter-pressing and (interesting to me given we have Isak and Ekitike) quite into crossing the ball from wide areas, a bit 90s throwback in terms of deliveries that are encouraged, so we may see lads get chalk on their boots rather than cut inside like Gakpo and Salah.

That is if he were to arrive of course.

Craig from Anfield Agenda is a sellout and a hypocrite. He has talked about and repeatedly played upon the problems that he and others have faced or are facing including mental health issues and possibly even addiction and money issues, yet he still decided to sell out to a gambling company.

He and certain other LFC focused individuals and channels such as the Anfield Wrap or David Lynch are sellouts, shills, idiots, or a combination of those things.
