It would take an awful lot of our budget to land him.
Rumours around MacAllister and Gakpo possibly joining Jones, Konate and Mo Salah out of the door.

I would take Gakpo going if we replaced him as well as a Salah replacement

Sky reporting we've approached Leipzig about Diamante. He's spoken a bit about PSG.
Not sure about going for players who speak about going to clubs.
He'd be a gamble for me, obviously most players are but in our current state I'd prefer we went for proven premier league players right now. Id still like to see us bring Bowen in. No risk at all, pace goals, assists. He'd got like a glove at LFC.

Given what I've seen of Bowen and Diomande, I'd say that Bowen is possibly a more 'solid' player, but Diomande looks to have that X factor. He's quick and a very good dribbler, something that we'll need if want a more like for like replacement for Salah. He like Salah also provides goals and assists. He looks like a player that is more suitable for the quick, dynamic, expansive football that we hope we're going to get with Iraola.

That model is just about profit. Even the biggest clubs buy some older players with qualities they need.
Fsg plan is to sell someone like wirtz at 27 -28, just like diaz.

Im definitely not a fan of english players and their price tags, but I think Bowen is just the type of player we need for depth. Instantly able to contribute anywhere in attack and a bit of a fighter.
I'd do the swap with leao (same age and value as gakpo imo).
Would also consider Nunez back depending on wages.

In an ideal World you have Bowen replace the "Chiesa role" and Diomande comes in too as your "replacement" for Salah.

Bowen also capable of minutes to rotate with Isak until Ekitike is back, capable of continuing to get some minutes there when both Isak and Ekitike are available - or when Isak inevitably gets injured. Affordable too, so solves a short-term problem for 24-36 months - but I don't see us going for it.

I'd be a bit reluctant to move Gakpo on at present despite hating his wage packet and his (lack of) contribution last season.

    Darwin's gone.
    Jota's gone (RIP)
Salah's gone (unless there is something mad happens)
    Diaz is gone.
Ekitike likely not fully firing until February/March
    Chiesa likely goes.

I think having Gakpo depart as well might just tip it a little too much and leave us with too much to do.

I'd happily sell Mac Allister (especially if he has a decent World Cup that inflates his fee) to get a younger, faster, more energetic midfielder in if a Home-grown one is available though.

2 years left on his contract I believe. So, maybe the agent letting us know others will be happy to take him. Hopefully not another long drawn out negotiating process.

Need him tied down to a long contract.

Unfortunately we have a dismal recent record when it comes to getting players to sign new contracts, and when I say 'we' I'm namely talking about Hedwards.
