    Leoni

Overnight, Fabrizio Romano reported that Giovanni Leoni has committed to joining Liverpool - saying 'yes' over a move to the club.

He claims that Liverpool want the talented Italy international now and a loan move was never under consideration.

Should he make the move, it has been claimed that he will immediately form as part of Arne Slot's squad.

Give em Elliot for Guehi straight swap

Save the money, buy leoni and get a attacker or 2 in

Sell Chiesa doak afterwards, only when we have the numbers in.

We'll still need a top CB next season but guehi will do for now, then we need to start thinking of phasing VVD out a bit and obviously replacing konate. Guehi could be the one, but we'll still need another, but that's next season. maybe this Leoni guy will be ready enough to come in rotate with VVD after a season, and VVD teach him the ways.

That sort of set-up would be ideal, but when you have players that may have less parties interested in them and you want to avoid having any "excess" on the books come the end of the window, it might be a difficult thing to manage.

Our pull this season has been strong for targets - Edwards and Hughes may simply be that more comfortable getting certain "outs" done prior to the "ins" overall - though we don't have too long to wait to find out.

Chiesa being kept to baby-sit Leoni, teach him English and get him up to speed with why Liverpool is the best club in the world. The fans even had a great song for him even after that nonentity of a first season.

Liverpool are in advanced talks with Parma for teenage centre-back Giovanni Leoni.

The fee being discussed is understood to be £25m-£30m.

Both clubs are negotiating the final details of a potential deal for the 18-year-old.

            that moved fast, good.

I've been to Italy a few times. He should have a decent grasp of the English language as it's
taught from primary school and up there..
Anyone I met 40 and under had great English.

Current rumours in twitter is that palace changed the fee structure over night so a bit of renegotiating going on. Also Madrid are waiting to see what happens and might go for Konate.

                Its all kicking off.

Marc Guehi is likely to stay at Crystal Palace and leave on a free transfer next summer.

Liverpool have held talks about signing Guehi but at the moment there is a gap in valuation.

Palace will not let their captain go on the cheap and Liverpool know they can wait until next summer to sign him on a free transfer.

That is the situation on Tuesday but things can change.

The player is happy to stay at Palace and play in Europe.

If Palace were to agree a fee with Liverpool then he would be happy to talk to them but that has not happened.

Multiple big clubs in the Premier League and across Europe are aware that Guehi may be available as a free agent next summer.

That's the problem we'll squabble over a few million and someone else will sign him on a free next year, if we can pay stupid money for wirtz i'm sure we can come up with a few more million for Guehi who we really need

There is one club in particular that would probably be very interested in picking up Guehi on a free. I'd rather we didn't take a chance on that happening.

Exactly, we are also very desperate for a cb given we only have 2. I'd like to get Guehi this summer even if it's at 40mil. That's still a very good price for a very good cb.

1 of those looks like he is leaving on a free next summer and the other unfortunatly will be 35 next year.

We spent £35m on Ox instead of waiting to get him for free and then we didn't even play him for months, Guehi is a no brainer

Waiting for players on a free is fraught with danger, I believe the player can only sign a pre-contract with LFC (eg) from 1st Jan or say 6 months before his contract expires. That leaves a few months from the summer window closing to have someone snipe in (RM eg) or the greedy agent to line his pockets and steer "his" client elsewhere. If guehi could sign a legally binding document 2day that meant he could join us 1st June 2026 then that would be fine but he can't. Just get him now even if its a little more than we want to pay. Due to accounting etc FSG prob look at the timing of the payments to palace as more important than the overall cost.

Can't see this being true. Parish even said I'm Sunday they need to get a few rather than him leave for free. No way can Palace afford to do that now they've been placed into the conference.

If we are lowballing Palace then we need to stop it. Just pay a reasonable price and get him.
