True... I knew it already - long before this slump - but watch Guehi side step us.

All good Kev.Originally posted by Kev0909 View PostFair enough sid, just sick of people making excuses for this shitshow
The small comfort I take (for now, won't last long!) about the current malaise is that there appear to be around 20, maybe even 25 or so small-medium problems with the current situation.
Every problem has a solution, so that says to me that if we can get on top of 5 or so of the 20-25 problems, we should improve a bit - then hopefully you sort out 5 more - and so on and so forth.
Though to say that we need to start fixing things quickly is a massive understatement. There is a lot wrong and a lot to deal with as we weather this proverbial Storm. There are 09/10 and 14/15 vibes about the place right now so we may unravel further before we stabilise and by that time the picture could look tough.Your hobbies are rollerblading and you're also a bit of a rat-hound? If Guehi wants to stay in this country im convinced he will go back to the club who got rid of him. Chelsea will dish out another 8 year contract he wont be able to turn that down. Not to forget foreign clubs can offer a deal in January transfer window. Madrid will surely wont be interested in Konate, while his stock has gone to zero, Guehi is going up.Originally posted by jr81 View PostDay 1 of the January transfer we should be going in with a strong cash offer. Let's see how guehi sees us.

I think the only way Klopp would come back is if FSG gave him a 100% cast iron guarantee that he'd be financially backed enough to get in the players that he wants. His net spend for the bulk of his time with us was just above £30m per season. I have no doubts that had he been backed anywhere near what Slot had been in the summer, we'd have another one of two PL and CL titles to our name.Originally posted by teesred View PostYep. That bad run back then had reasons and rhyme. There was a clear lack of squad strengthening.
Right now whatever those reasons are it's obvious that Klopp was never backed to the tune of a few hundred million post title win. We've got top class players in that starting 11, some are experienced stalwarts who know what hard work is. Have they taken the chance to kick back after years of solid graft?
If ( and I'm not for one second advocating Slot losing his job here) FSG went back for Klopp at some point it would be just desserts if he told them to fuck off. Although I'm certain he'd come back in a heartbeat if the opportunity arises.

I could see it happening if the chance was there but like Steveo says it very often doesn't work second time around but he's a different breed to any other manager.Originally posted by RedMagic View PostI think the only way Klopp would come back is if FSG gave him a 100% cast iron guarantee that he'd be financially backed enough to get in the players that he wants. I wonder how he feels about the amount of money they've backed Slot with in comparison to him.
It was strange to see what he said about returning, I wonder if he's bored? Had 18 months recuperating and now itching to get involved maybe. The defining moments in our lives are never planned.

Totally understand all of that. That's why on day 1,we go in with a bid that should get palace to agree. Then if guehi says no we swiftly move on.Originally posted by Jenson78 View PostIf Guehi wants to stay in this country im convinced he will go back to the club who got rid of him. I'm sure we will know if he is willing to move to us come january anyway given that he was willing in the summer to come. Our transfer committee will surely be speaking with his agent before any bid goes in.

I would be thinking more along the lines of the club pleading with him to help in a dire time I'd need and come back for this season, and maybe next, to steady the ship while they try to find someone else suitable.
Although I had the impression that he and Edwards didn't get along in the end?

Agree, only saw bits of interview but he hinted it was impossible to ask for a year out, also that liverpool only club he would manage in premiership, happy where he us but did say wouldnt rule out returning to liverpool.Originally posted by teesred View PostI could see it happening if the chance was there but like Steveo says it very often doesn't work second time around but he's a different breed to any other manager.

On the down side returning to a club rarely works and never thought fsg and klopp where on same page, cant see it happening and not sure i want to risk the memories, brian clough returning to forest was a big mistake.

Should we move Slot on, I really hope we don't back to Klopp. It very rarely works out going back, and I really wouldn't want to tarnish his legacy.
We're going to find out whether Slot is the manager we all hope he is.
Depsite the results and what many believe we have a squad of very good players. It's up to Arne to get a tune out them.Something, Something, Something, Dark Side

Again totally agree. Slot hasn’t gone from a top class manager to total shyte over night.
He’s not Cafe Hag Two is he?
And while I credit Klopp far more (sorry if that offends some) for last season - Slot managed what he had at his disposal to near perfection. Got fortunate with injuries but brought home number 20…
I can’t help but think that none of it happens unless Klopp leaves behind such fine work and sings “Arne Slot” at his farewell….but that’s just me.

Agree. He has to show he can turn it around and hopefully he does.Originally posted by jozza800 View PostShould we move Slot on, I really hope we don't back to Klopp. It very rarely works out going back, and I really wouldn't want to tarnish his legacy.

It's easy for people to say he got lucky etc but it's worth remembering he'd win a league title in a league that's mostly dominated by PsV and Ajax. It's a noteable achievement to do it in two different leagues.
No doubting he has a huge challenge on now though. The defining moments in our lives are never planned.
