Nearly anyone I have met who has hated them has had a bad experience with them being canned, or cured in brine for too long, or they're not ripe.

Won't try and convert you, but if they are cured properly and kept in glass rather than a can it's a completely different flavour and brilliant with beer or cheese.

I used to hate Beetroot as I had unpleasant memories of it as a kid in the Vinegar/jar and in an attempt to get one of the best super-foods out there into myself I made a conscious effort on it.

At first I hated it so much that I had to fold it into these little parcels of seeds and lettuce. Nowadays it's one of my absolute favourite bits on a plate of salad. Really good in a burger too.

Sometimes it's about eating it the right way or with the right accompanying food. Worst-case-scenario it's not for you.

Also some people love black olives but hate green ones and vice versa. Green ones that have been pipped and have chilli stuffed into the vacated hole are great.
