I tuned in on YouTube and there appears to be a short film about Zlatan Ibrahimovic having come up with the new format.

It was excruciating enough for me to zonk out.

    Might revisit in a bit.

Am I misunderstanding something? If every team plays two teams from each pot, then there is no advantage of being seeded.

I've still not come across anyone who actually watches all the nonsense that goes on before the actual draw takes place.

If it wasn't seeded, there would be no "equality"

The seeding, allows for bigger teams to play each other before ko stages, unlike the old format.
And it ensures everyone gets the same levels of opponents as before.

This new format supposedly makes for a more balanced set of fixtures. Who knows whether that's the case or not.

I don't like the fact that the draw is 'automated'.

Bayern get drawn. A button gets pressed, and their eight opponents are automatically selected. Yep that's all above board.

They are: Chelsea, Paris St-Germain, Club Brugge, Arsenal, Sporting, PSV, Union SG and Pafos.

                              Liverpool will play:

Real Madrid (home), Inter Milan (away), Atletico Madrid (home), Eintracht Frankfurt (away), PSV Eindhoven (home), Marseille (away), Qarabag (home) and Galatasaray (away)

Your thoughts on our draw? On TV and radio they are saying that's a tough draw. I'd say it could have been worse. Having the likes of both Madrid teams and Carrier bag at home rather than away is a good thing.
