You need to make sure the spine of the team iis strong every year i would say. We needed a striker to back up Salah for a couple of seasons. Nunez was supposed to be that but didn't work out. It's well-documented we've needed a DM since Fabinho went really. Also, CB. So I agree it is criminal that we've left some of those areas unaddressed again.

Just thinking about their physical make-up, Ekitike looks more like the gangly-in-the-box striker type. Isak I could see working maybe on the wing.

Nope - but Torres didn't play in this kind of a setup. I agree - again - it doesn't look great, but these fellas have barely played together yet. Isak isn't even match fit. See him doing work at HT in games. Ekitike hit the ground running but naturally the introduction of Isak has confused things a little. This will take time.

As Red October hinted at... our inaction over many other windows had to be rectified in one hit. This crazy summer could be the answer yet, but you won't see plain sailing from the off. Might get worse before it gets better. but we do have a decent crop of very very good footballers at the club right now. Let's see. I can tell you - Klopp would get this group playing a mighty old tune.

cunha Amad and Mbeumo will have a field day running at our defense with no protection, not all 3 will start but yeah .... but they have no midfield.... perfect game for Wirtz to show why he's so good, can't see it being 0-0 that's for sure

Isak very much a CF not sure why he keeps drifting off to the left in games, he's a goalscorer needs to be in the middle, said that in last match thread... kept drifting off then noone in the middle ?? great.

Means you'd likely have to leave Wirtz out which would be hard to do given his fee...

I've got no issue with playing a 4231 but the 2 CMs have to sit. They can't be getting caught ahead of the ball as frequently as they are currently.

Baffling been playing the same formation, most common yet we don't have the players for it, Jones is not a holding player frankly I don't know what he is, endo isn't the standard we need, Grav can do a job there- is mac better forward? I'm not sure...

Look like guehi will have a lot of offers if reports are to be believed. Madrid and barca interested. We really should have paid the 40 or 45 mil for him. A cb for next 8 to 10 years.

We've prioritised the attack in this window. Without Salah we really struggled to find the net so I can understand them putting all the eggs in the Isak basket. Ekitike has been a bonus. If Wirtz clicks we'll look a heck of a lot better
