    • Too many changes to a squad that won the league. Kelleher Tsimikas Trent Diaz Elliot Nunez Quansah and then the untimely death of Jota. It's hard to figure out the identity of the team.

Yes we are wide open to the counter but we are there for the taking from the middle of the park too. We are getting over run in the middle by so many teams.. Thats'a not about beating the low block that is about not being good enogh.
Absolutely. Slot can moan all he likes about opposition tactics but it was pretty much the same last season but we managed to overcome them with efficiency and patience, a completely different approach to now plus the work ethic was there.
We were the ones outworking teams.
A pal of mine mentioned a couple of stats from this season, in most games our pass completion has been much better but we've been outworked by something like 5k. That's a lot, probably around half an hour's more running from the opposition.
You'll lose to most teams in those circumstances.

Yes - and nor have I - what I am saying is an answer across both so called title defences.. In fact an answer for any side in any title defence... It's the nature of football.. That OK?

            • I think it was true up until a few games ago. Must have dropped off noticeably tho especially since United and Brentford,

It is. I've checked and in most cases upto and including palace it was by some stretch, even against Arsenal.
Last night it was 487 to Brentfords 236.
                Utd was 394 (94%) to 165. (79%)
Mad stats but just shows we are doing something right but obviously lots of other things wrong.

                • We can’t keep the sodding ball out of our goddamned net for five minutes, whoever we play.

That is the main difference between us and Arsenal. They have only scored 5 from open play in the league this season but only conceded 4, the same number little Brentford scored against us last night.

                  • He's out of his depth. Won the league with someone else's team against an Arsenal side that gave up half way through the season. We've been mostly shit since the League Cup final last season bar the odd good performance. He's had countless games to fix the glaringly obvious defensive problems, but has done nothing to fix them. And he keeps picking Salah, wtf. He clearly hasn't got a clue what he's doing.

                    • I think we should sack Slot and get in someone who will do worse and then wish we hadn't sacked a manager that won us the league..
I mean it makes perfect sense RIGHT?? Some fans have become like Chelsea and Madrid.. Reading other LFC forums is worse. Mental really.

                      • Chelsea have spent nigh on 2 billion in the last 3 seasons... and still behind us in the league.. They sacked numerous managers and are still nowhere near winning the league.. The only reason people want Slot out. cause of the silly rumour we may get Klopp back..Otherwise they'd never consider it in a million years.. Our players need to take some responsibility, Salah is not working hard enough to protect our right back, Going back to the Chelsea game.. Virgil backed off and let Caicedo shoot.
In fact Van Djik has been ultra slack this season, Hes been worse than Konate. Kerkez has not been great defensively. Neither as Robertson when hes played.

                        • Some good points there - and I think it’s true - talk of Slot being sacked is hugely premature and has been spotlighted due to the poor timing of the Klopp interview - but few could deny that we’ve been average to poor since the PSG games/Cup final loss to the Toon - and that the great form up to that point allied to the Arse giving up due to persistent injuries is what made our title win possible.

That’s before being frank about the glaring fact that it wasn’t just mostly Klopp’s squad….but it was 100% Klopp’s squad driven to make good on the title win send off - they were so close to and robbed of - due to injury - the season prior..

Questions remain as to why so many of the bedrock of the team - the foundation of so much - have gone to shyte this season? What could it be?

Salah is class and should start but slot shouldnt be afraid to sub him off early if salah isnt having a good game.

Not sure how much imput slot had last season, klopps squad and slot kept it safe with klopps formation, tried to make it his team changing to a 4 2 3 1 with a 10 thats not working.
Spent big but wrong areas, didnt buy replacement for arnold(frimpong better as right mid)didnt buy CB,DM LEFT ATTACK and player to push salah.
Spent over 300m on 2 identical strikers and a 10 who doesnt fit into our best formation.
Klopp was right in not liking 4 2 3 1 and stated it left us to open.

                              • He gets all of this season even if its a disaster, if the jan xfer window doesn't bring in what's needed and he can't get a better tune out of what's already here then he'll be gone this time in 2026 if form and results are both shit as they are now. If konate isn't extending by Xmas then we need a top CB in then. And wait on Leone to recover for start of next season.
However win our next 4 (as daunting as that seems right now), we go into the intl break on the up.
