Ekitike should be the starting cf based on performances. But isak was bought as the main guy. I'd say they expect Ekitike to start how he has. But I agree, he shoukd be starting right now. Ease isak into the team.

Slot needs to show something in the next few weeks to turn this around.

Chiesa Ekitike Frimpong should be playing more. Dominic is the only player who can hold his head up this season PERIOD. The poor bastard has nearly played in every position.

The bright spots from the new guys have been frimpong, ekitike and chiesa who is almost like a new signing. Wirtz has shown little bits and pieces. Of the established players: Ali, VVD (just), Grav, szobo, at a push gakpo.

Gakpo was our biggest goal threat today, hit the woodwork three times (once from a deflected cross) and missed a header from about 4 yards.
Fine margins maybe but he really should have scored at least two of those and probably three, enough to have won the game.

At least he was getting in position for getting chances. Gawd knows where Isak was most of the time. Forgot he was on the pitch in the second half

Given what we've served up thus far and Slot's decision both before and during games, it's entirely feasible that Slot could have been involved in the decisions that were made over Diaz and any potential replacement.

Why is kerkez still starting ahead of robbo? especially in the big games I know robbo aint perfect but cmon he was a top player for years for us and has the experience and more solid surely.

we need to get back to being more patient in our play.. Maybe dropping Salah and having a natural outside right player on the right will help Isak more..he can get in the box, rather than expected to play off the ball. The wide areas are the key in low block teams.. we are trying to play through 2 block buses at times. we need to turn the opposition sideways rather than trying to play through them front on.

Even so surely slot has a say it's his tactics- he's managing the players personally, must have some idea / say

Otherwise how can you manage improve a team to play how you want with someone else bringing players into YOUR team without your say?

So what should we have done in the summer Kev?

Maybe get a top LW similar to diaz instead of wirtz.... maybe a CB who we'll need next season anyway... so covering us for the future and not needing fucking 2, maybe a no6.. maybe a RB that'll actually play at RB and start, slot obviously doesn't rate chiesa even if he did doubt he'd keep fit most of the season..... so maybe even a RW.. or at least a LW that can play RW too, we're missing a attacker out wide with some pace, that's for sure, but that's not even the main issue

This squad could actually be a very good back three side. We'd have more protection in the middle and it would utilize the fullbacks more, especially Frimpong.
Unfortunately it would mean dropping Salah which is obviously never happening despite how poor he's been.

The way we are playing right now looks reminiscent of the side Klopp took over. Fragile as anything and trying to find an identity.
