  • Would be nice to see someone who can set up a midfield.

    • We never looked threatening. Forest were not afraid at Anfield. Can we sell Kerkez at Christmas. Mo looks a Saudi league player. We transitioned so slowly.

He plays good football but regardless of that the fact is he's (Slot) won 3/12. It's unacceptable and it's getting close to the worst we've seen in our lifetime.
Title win or not you have to act at some point when the shit hits the fan. Ice said a few times now if there was something that was looking like it was just unlucky or we were building towards something but we're not. Its absolutely directionless.

        • I was working so I missed the game, but I did check out the scoreline just before the third goal was scored and from the sounds of it, it seems like it was more of the same we've seen over the last several weeks - bar the Villa and Madrid games.

There used to be a time when losing 3-0 at home to a team placed 19th in the table at the start of play - and led by a manager known for negative football and parking the bus - would be a sackable offense for the manager.

That's 8 defeats in 11 games in all competitions (including the CL and League cup) - including a 7 game consecutive losing streak in that run.

Not to mention our inability to keep a clean sheet (the last one being the Arsenal game), coupled with shipping 6 goals in the last two games to the opposition.

          But let's not fool ourselves.
This man is not going anywhere any time soon.
FSG will most likely just wait it out to the end of the season and see how things pan out.
In the meantime, they'll most likely withdraw their offer for a contract extension to him (to be expected), and maybe also hold back on spending any more money in the transfer window including bringing any badly needed players in January if we don't see any improvement before then - which means he's probably also going to cost us Guehi and Semenyo if they were available to be obtained in January.

          Silver lining time:-

Ironically, Mo leaving for AFCON in January might actually see us improve rather than struggle without him.
The number of times our attacks died at his feet because he tries to dribble past a wall of defender or takes a weak shot right at an opposition defender's legs was beyond mind-numbingly frustrating.

          • What a day:
AM: I watch England who can’t play cricket
I Go to work for peanuts.
            I return home.
PM: I watch Liverpool FC pretending to play football.
What have they both got in common ?.
Arrogant rich twits who don’t give a shit about losing, because they get paid regardless.

            • Also, not sure of mentioned previously. But that was forests 1st cléan sheet all season. At Anfield. With 200mil of new attacking 'talent' on the pitch.

                  • Says a lot about the quality of the League that we can lose 4 of our last 5 and yet remain "just" -

                    - 5 points off second spot
                    - 4 points off third spot
                    - 2 points off fourth spot

That's not said to be hopeful or to find a silver lining, just an observation. The distance to Arsenal makes for very poor reading, but us being 2 points off 4th considering our malaise is wild.

The purple patch of form that we absolutely cannot seem to find right now (let's say 4 wins and a draw or 3 wins and 2 draws from a 5-game chunk of League) could really take the Disastrophe vibes away pretty quickly - but we are seemingly utterly bereft of solutions just now and will likely see it get worse before it gets better.

                    • Quite hilarious so far this season we'd have been better off with Welbeck And either Hendo or Xhaka than Wirtz.... a lot cheaper too....no i'm not writing off Wirtz- just because of the way we play, they're more suited and probably more needed...and obviously isaks had his injury issues and when he has played... he's played like it's the worst decision he's ever made coming here, but blabla fitness blabla

I'm on about the present, first 12 games I generally think we'd be in a better position

It's somewhat hilarious actually it fucking is..... gotta laugh, probably should've sgined Walker whilst we're at, couldn't be much worse either and at least another option

Yes. I thought we and mo started well enough yesterday. We just seemed to collapse after the first goal.

Anyway, mo being away might be a blessing in disguise. I'm also starting to think we should have got rid of vvd and mo in the summer and just do a full rebuild. Sounds crazy but it looks like the big contracts have had the opposite effect to what we wanted.

Virgil seems lazy and yes he's working alone back there. But i just think it might be a case of the big players having too much say in the dressing room. Vvd just seems to criticise his team mates all the time while making plenty of mistakes himself.

With hindsight we should have brought in Guehi and AN Other and rebuilt the defence. Save the wirtz money.

And the fact mo started yesterday and not ekitike who has been our best striker is just bizarre.

                        • Think that first goal and given the position of their player and what happened v City made it worse

But that’s an unacceptable reaction all the same it should galvanise us and make us fight harder as it always did under Jurgen

                          • Is the stat that we have a near 75% win rate with Ekitike starting and a 0% win rate with Isak starting true?

                            Can anyone confirm or deny..?

I mean it’s not definitive as Isak hasn’t had a pre season (becoming a tired excuse) but it’s a damning situation if it’s true. And it gives credence to the notion that Slot is the fall guy. Would he really be choosing Alexander over Hugo right now? The manager? We have all seen them both… We can all see which player offers more threat.

                            • First player since 1908 or something silly to lose his first 4 games.

Saying that, I don't think it's all on Isak, he barely had a kick of the ball on Saturday. And I dont think Ekitike touched it at all when he came on.

And Ekitike's numbers haven't been stellar recently either, he has 1 goal contribution since his Red Card in the league cup.

The whole side is borked. We could have prime Rush/Fowler/Torres playing up top and the results would be the same.

                              • Nobody saying it’s all on Isak. The question is why is the man who has a zero 0 % win rate starting - starting over a fella with a near 75% win rate when starting…?

                                Who is steering this ship…?

Also Ekitike is doing just fine until the man who has a zero percent win rate starting was started over him…?

I mean it’s funny that anyone would try to step over that glaring clusterfuck
