Agreed, I wouldn't want either in the role. Just going off what's being reported around by various people.

Things are pretty dire though when you have our talisman coming out against the manager saying they have no relationship.

Sacking the manager is an option, the players who've given up on LFC must leave.
What about sacking a manager that has given up on LFC?

Out of the 4 players mentioned, Konate looks to be the one that's given up on the club. With his performances and contract situation.

I don't agree with what salah did yesterday, but to me it seems he is fighting for his future here not giving up.

      • Slot out of his depth, not premiership level and doesnt have the respect of top players.
Imo you start your top players(salah)and sub off if not doing it.
Salah kicking slot when he's down with his " me me me"rant with comment like "i have earned my place and dont need to fight for it""the club has a problem but its not me"arent going to go down well with fsg and will further unrest the squad.
Slot has to go but impossible to replace with top manager mid season and cant see intrim manager pulling the squad back together.

        • I don't recall a Liverpool player so disrespectful to a manager so publicly. Slot has been the one thrown under the bus with the interview. Salah had been shocking for 3 months. The fact is we have not lost since he was dropped

          • I think salah has shown what was there all along. Its unfortunate but he's been disrespectful to Klopp before for just being subbed. He's shown total lack of awareness with his comments this time.

What a good pro would do would be come out and say " I'm disappointed to lose my place but i support the team and this club has done so much for me for many years. I will stay and fight for my place". That's what a grown up professional says, who realises how lucky he is to be one of the richest people on earth just for kicking a ball around!

Can't help but feel that Gerrard would be anything other than our "Solskjaer" and that we could see a couple of whoopings before his eventual departure. Last thing we need to do is to Speedrun the Man United Collapse Template.

If it does pan out as such that Slot isn't going to turn this around then we absolutely must get the next appointment spot-on. It's far too easy to end up with a few different Managers in a row and someone has to inherit a mish-mash of a squad template and build from there.

Mad that we had a comfortable 2-0 lead and spells of dominance in possession yesterday and we go and blow it - would have been level with 4th, would have had 7-points-from-9, would have won 2-from-3 and we could at least say we had temporarily halted the rot a bit. Could have headed for that Inter fixture with a bit of confidence and so on and so forth.

Instead the Inter and Brighton fixtures have more pressure on them than what we really needed.

Until recently i was of the view that things would turn around. Last few weeks I've lost faith that slot knows what he's doing. When you look at how things have gone this season it smacks of someone who is not up to it. Its harsh but it makes you question last season. Its possible he really did just get Klopp’s team over the line and salah was a big part of that.

If we think back to Rodgers in 2014, would anyone think that was down to brendan? Or really down to a generational talent like suarez and the drive of Stevie G?

There is an underlying truth here, loathed as I am to go against Mo Salah with everything he has done for the club. Not the finest of his work.

I can agree with his frustration but not the words. I suggest this is cultural tho. In Britain we have a very strong sense of not blowing your own trumpet and never actually saying what you mean. But what Mo has said seems pretty final. This is it for him really or for Slot or indeed for both

Regardless - none of us really know what has gone on behind the scenes. Perhaps Mo is simply revealing the levels to which the inner workings are broken. If promises have been made and not fulfilled and favouritism has become overt.. then it might explain - in some part - why so many key players are simply unable to perform.

I think the bold is clearly true - I understand that most people just go with the flow and accept the narrative that Slot was brilliant last season. His head is up on the flag on the Kop with Shankly, Paisley, Fagan, Kenny, Benitez & Klopp...

This made me cringe when I saw it was being done. If you want to erode and dilute the clubs heritage in an instant - that's the way to do it. On that flag he is the equal of all those managers.. It's IDIOTIC.

The fella walked into a ready made squad. Not the biggest but - uniquely assembled and coached by the best man manager on the planet.

You give it at least another season before you elevate him to that level.. All men who won multiple titles and European cup OR who rebuilt broken squads to go on and win the biggest prizes.. Arne was put on the pedestal.. perhaps he might even have been capable of being worthy of it.. but it would appear to have gone to his head.

                    • It will be interesting to see if for instance Slot is shown the door and Mo sticks around, will he start clicking again? Or is this it?

I hate anything like this. Dirty laundry in public is for shithouse clubs like Chelsea etc.

100%. I highlighted that last season. It was embarrassing and it shouldn't have happened.

If we ditch the Manager and Mo DOESN'T start clicking it could get really horrible.

Ultimately those in the Hughes/Edwards/etc roles are going to look at a player on £400k-per-week who is the same age or close (?) as Ronaldo was when Real Madrid decided to move him on and be thinking that there are two players out there in the £100k-£150kpw earnings tier and 22-26 age bracket that could come in and help the side more than Mo currently is, with more years left at the peak of their careers to continue providing that help.

It could very well be that both Mo and Slot end up going. Some of the decision, whether people agree with it or not, is going to depend on underlying Data and how our Analysts interpret it. Klopp's last season at Dortmund was relegation form for about half a season yet the hidden metrics showed they were nowhere near as bad as results suggested. With us, we probably have guys projecting whether or not we will (or can) retain our place in the Champion's League spots and that will hugely influence any decision-making, unless they feel the dressing room is entirely lost.

A Brian Reade type figure is going to have one Hell of an interesting book to write about this period of LFC's history once the dust settles!!!!

Yeah but there's another 4 players at least that should be shown the door too then,as well as the backroom staff- set piece coach we got in the summer, really fucking good he is- the transfer staff------ coaches

Also the youth staff can all get fucked off that needs to be seriously looked at

we're meant to be a top club it's like we've got non-league standard staff behind the scenes too.

                              "Liverpool's new set-piece coach is
Aaron Briggs, formally appointed in September 2025 under manager Arne Slot, working alongside new Set-Piece Analyst Lewis Mahoney to overhaul attacking and defensive dead-ball situations, "

                              What jokers,

clowns to the left, jokers to the right.... slot's stuck in the middle with yous

The team were so used to each other and the style that perhaps any manager might have won the league last season. Especially with Arsenal and City having poor ones and dropping out so early.

I also feel like the players see through him, his tactics and perhaps the treatment towards some.
