Much too early to be calling the League for me.

Injuries, fixture congestion, the Champion's League, whether or not sides start to figure out Arsenal's set pieces, whether or not Arsenal can snag enough from open play - etc etc

Man City concede more, sure - but they score more as well and have a habit of coming out on top in title races.

I just hope both sides can hit a sticky patch while we simultaneously find the capacity to concede way less. I don't rate our chances of getting into a title race, but if we could get the 9-point gap down to 5 or so, it would at least keep us engaged.

Whatever the formation, the balance hasn't been right all season. Whether there are 2 in the middle or 3, they've all been caught far too far upfield.

It's the numbers Jozza the numbers. The fact that football is fluid and cannot be boiled down to a phone number escapes many a latter day "expert".

"Slot plays/played a 4-2-3-1" oft used by those without a clue describes a shape that exists/existed perhaps only for the 5 seconds before kickoff. Anyone actually at the games knows this - because they witnessed it in 3 dimensions - rather than on a screen.

DNA regardless of the Slot tweak (largely on paper) last season and where we see things changing in a more radical sense this time out..

Last season for us, slowly adopting a 4-3-2-1 was just an attacking variation of the 4-3-3, prioritising attacking width through the full-backs and overloading the half-spaces.
