I get that point and it has merit - but 19 is a dyed in the wool RED, like almost everyone on this forum. .He has his own views.. both you and I often used to disagree with him on Fab and Hendo... that's fine.. it even got heated. but this is different. This isn't about fans having dissagreements. Regarding Wirtz - 19's stance has been mis interpreted.. He isn't saying he thinks the players is shyte... he can see the quality he simply feels that we have lost more in trying to accommodate him than we had before and as such it has been detrimental to the team.. It's a very valid argument at this point in the season. n time he may change his stance..and that would be fine...no?

Fabinho was a class player. Fell off in the last season and a bit but up until then he was a brilliant number 6.

Perhaps - my own personal view is he thought Hendo was the linchpin... I totally disagreed with him at the time..and still think Fab was superb but confess that 19 was right very often on Hendo who I thought - wrongly - was a carthorse.

I always liked Henderson, he got a lot of flack. he was better than average, no superstar but was up there with talent.
Never scored enough but for the most part he played at DM before Fabinho..He was a very good passer of the ball.

And that’s a big if Slot lets the team play to their strengths being more direct, playing to the great Bob Paisley’s adage “It’s not about the long ball or the short ball, it’s about the right ball” playing the right ball when it’s on, and breaking down low blocks by doing that, attacking thrn quickly and directly after we’ve won it back off them

And lets Wirtz play as just another member of the team as part of that when it’s played to him, not trying to make everything go through him with short passes ignoring the right ball far too often

Wirtz can be a very good player for us

It’s how Slot is trying to use him that’s the issue and he’s only playing to instruction

Re Burnley in that game there were at least 5 times Gakpo was in great space to be released down the left with a 10-15 yard ball, and ignored in favour of a 5 yard sideways or backwards pass

There were at least 20 times Frimpong was absolutely wide open in the right to be released with a crossfire or diagonal switch and ignored in favour of a meaningless 5 yard sideways or backwards pass

Part of how we always broke these sides down is releasing g the wide player in behind their full back, behind their defensive line so they are all turned running towards their own goal and our players have the run on them abs can arrive in space to be picked out

Wirtz is no doubt a great player how Slot his using him and instructing the team to play is the issue
