I'm not even referring to sacking the manager but the recruitment, where the manager has no say. If we were going that route we are in seriously trouble. Manager and upper management need to be aligned, especially when it comes to recruitment.
I've heard we're getting Messi on loan, it's true you know.

What is true Elliot might end up at the mighty Charlotte FC...

Yep - looks like ‘Back to the Rodgers’

FSG originally wanted to deploy a ‘Head Coach + Sporting Director’ model when they hired Brendan Rodgers in 2012, but Rodgers allegedly refused to accept it

Never understood that model myself, managers need to get who they want for how he wants the team to play.... that's smalltime club shit in my opinion... he needs to make the choices, he needs to setup the team, he needs the player he needs...imagine being a manager and just having random players shoved on you without you even having much of a say.. that's not healthy.

Ya feel sorry for elliot. He was a good squad player for us but wasn't good enough to be a starter. I wouldn't mind having him as an option off the bench right now with our injuries.

Isn't that the model in most American sports? Management trade Ayers without coaches knowing it's happening at times. And now there are many American owners in the Premier league. So not surprised if it goes on here.

I don't agree with it. They need alignment on specific positions and attributes for the player wanted. Then have a list of targets that suits that.

Problem is he wants to play, whole reason going to villa in first place, ended up being a terrible move because rightly so villa are flying and the players are smashing it- why would Elliot get much of a look* in, sadly.

Cant see us turning that down if true.
I was only reading yesterday that we're trying to tie Gravenberch down to a long term deal so it's funny Real should get wind of this lol

Like I said, not saying we should sign him but who knows if we can get him at a decent price when wolves go down, might not be a bad shout- and could be sold for profit further down the line if it doesn't work out.

need to look to the future Ian, doubt chiesa & Salah will be here much longer, but never fear, at least we have Gakpo!
I think it gets over looked massively when a young kid as young as Rio gets minutes never mind starting for one of the best clubs in world football. Saying that every player who has ever played minutes in a Premier league game is a brilliant player. It's just there's other brilliant better players out there.
As for Harvey I think at the start of the season he seen himself on the plane for America for the world cup. And he felt a move away was his best chance to impress the England manager. Little did he know how the season was to play out for us and himself at Villa.

Stop listening to absolute morons about how recruitment works. They know nothing.

They will not. This guy was cheap at 40/45million and would have been a long term successor to virgil. If city get him it will be a major fuck up by us in the summer.

Fans fuming over a player they probably hadn't noticed this time last year. Now he's the greatest thing ever.
