I’m hopeful we might get another wide forward in before the window closes
Another improved performance and win v Bournemouth and who knows, just maybe
Great to see Slot changing back tactics to something far more entertaining and recognisable that gets results"If Everton were playing at the bottom of my garden, i'd close the curtains”

Noticed ekitikie and salah start wide with wirtz & dom high press although i cant see it working against dreaded low block.

4222 was 2 sixes 2 tens and 2 forwards with the full backs mostly providing the width I called it thr box midfield for that reason 😂Originally posted by Ravo19 View PostEnjoyed the new formation although i dont know much about it,4 2 2 2 box midfield?

That wasn’t especially it although we took that shape a fair bit to be fair with Wirtz LC10 and Dom arriving into RC10 in my view
It was a 4312 starting
Jurgen used to play the 2 forwards as they were last night v some opposition especially if the full back could own Mo
So they are both in a position where neither the full back or CB can mark them sort of just between the 2 where it isn’t comfortably and doesn’t confirm to their shape for either to
Part of it is they are supposed to make inside out runs to be released behind the full back and when when goes wide the other is supposed to come in as though there’s a length of rope between them
It works great v a back 3 as thry can be released down the side of LCB or RCB as we saw a lot with Ekitike and that can be a ball played into feet he controls to take it rhere, it slid down from the line or a ball through the channel between CB & RCB he gets thevother side of in behind RCB or a ball between LCB & CB he gets from moving across when our RFWD is wide receiving in behind their centre CB
I liked we had just Ekitike and Mo mostly looking to work them that way with Wirtz or Szobo or Macca or Grav or any 2 of them arriving
Sometimes less is more in my view, you have more space to make well timed runs into the ball
Defenders gate it because CBs especially like to have someone to mark and you’ve got an effective front 2 who aren’t giving them anyone to mark really 😂 while our 2 are effectively marking 2 of their back if we lost it making it harder for them to play out
There are loads of great aspects to it loads more than that but ppl will most if I go on 😂😂"If Everton were playing at the bottom of my garden, i'd close the curtains”

I'm not expecting much this window. Would be great if we pulled another VvD out of a hat but very unlikey.Originally posted by Kev0909 View PostDoubt we'll do anything in january doesn't look it but who knows.

I know what you mean about the peace and quiet. It's also notable how quiet the forum is in general. If we'd lost it would be bonkers on here.

I'd expect most of the transfer news will be around which of our youngsters go out on loan.Originally posted by JockStrap View PostDoes last night help the transfer budget? We've basically guaranteed our way through to the knockout stages.

Slot is supposed to be a big admirer of James McConnell, just returned from Ajax.
Will Jayden Danns get fit in time for a loan or will we keep him?
Will Harvey Elliott remain at Villa or go to the States?
Exciting times

It's a silly system though because when someone quotes posts from people you ignore, you can see it... but this forum is like 1970's software
Rather not see anything at all.
So if noone can quote them, I'd much appreciate it lolssssss my parting gift to them >>>

Good shout. It's not the most interesting stuff but it is all part of the process I suppse. Elliott is an interesting one. Could he come back and get some game time I wonder? With Salah not 100%, Chiesa awful and Isak out for the season there's an argument to play Elliott a bit more.Originally posted by Daffydd View PostI'd expect most of the transfer news will be around which of our youngsters go out on loan.

Somewhat agree, bit pointless all round...Originally posted by LFC-DPG View PostWe should cut our small losses with Chiesa and give Harvey his place.
As much as I like Fede he’s never going to make it.
Positive news
Liverpool have become the top-earning Premier League club for the first time, according to analysis from financial firm Deloitte.
The Reds won the English top-flight title last season and generated 836m euros (£702m) in revenue - more than any other English side.
Manchester United fell to their lowest ever position in what is the 29th edition of the Deloitte Football Money League.
Real Madrid again top the list with 1.2bn euros (£1.01bn), despite not winning the Champions League or La Liga last season, as both Manchester clubs dropped down the list.
There are six Premier League clubs in the top 10 and 15 in the top 30, but for the first time there is no English team in the top four.
Barcelona were second, moving back into the top three for the first time since 2019-20 after generating 975m euros (£819m), despite playing away from their Nou Camp stadium last season as it was renovated.
Bayern Munich are third on 861m euros (£723m), Champions League winners Paris St-Germain fourth on 837m euros (£703m) and Liverpool fifth.
Overall, the revenue of the top 20 clubs went up by 11% to a record 12.4bn euros (£10.4bn).
