  • For the kind of money we're paying he must be coming in as at least 3rd choice and will likely be pushing Virg and Konate (assuming he is still here) for a first team place.

We don't tend to spend daft money on 'potential'.

      What a load of shite

What fucking world do you live in? The source tells you whether a story is reputable or not. Creditable sources do not spread clickbait on X. You know, the shite you read and get your knickers in a twist over.

We're planning for the future. Signing a 20 year old for £60m is no joke. Everything doesn't have to be about the here and now. If this kid is good enough and we have to wait 6 months, so what?

Obviously 40m difference in fee is a lot.
The club just don't seem to have been sold on Geuhi.
Do you think Shankly would have signed a player who was flirting with Man City?

Absolutely not but was he flirting with Man City? Or were they the only club who went in for him. Same with Semenyo. It's been reported that we weren't really interested in Geuhi even in the summer and made a tentative enquiry about Semenyo but no follow up.

              Nicely done

              Found this

‘Ten years of Jürgen Klopp’s blood, sweat, and belief dragged Liverpool back to the summit of European football. In just eighteen months, Slot, Hughes, and Edwards have dismantled that work with alarming speed, turning a restored giant into a club drifting without authority, identity, or direction.’

Need to stick with what we’ve been demanding and go on a run now

We must have been interested. Didn't he do his medical? To get to that point everything has to be agreed with both clubs, the player, agents, etc. We know those things happened.

So what changed? Let's assume we were still interested in signing him but told him he'd have to wait till the summer. Bit like we've done with Jacquet. How did we get from there to him signing for Man City in January? Do you think that was all done to LFC?

                • And by “WE” I mean us old heads who called it for the disaster it was and only after changing it significantly, almost back to as before, have we got some results in 3 of the last 4

I can believe there was a bust up at Bournemouth as reported as we got level then Slot bizarrely reverted to what doesn’t work and took all the intensity and tempo and directness out of us again

Get what you're saying - it could simply be that there was nobody available (in this window for the "right now") of the standard we'd want for the long-term. It's hard to say.

We were largely uncomfortable with the Kabak and Davies window, but if we had gotten a "decent" player in, we might not have ended up with Konaté in the Summer that followed. If that were the case, then I am content enough to see if we can manage the next 4 months with what we have. I'd like to think that Frimpong will be available for at least half of it and that we shouldn't need to field Endo and Szoboszlai simultaneously in the back four more than a handful of times.

I don't mind Endo doing the odd bit at centre-back or even right-back (it's what utility lads are for) but yeah if we get as thin as to need Endo at RCB and Szoboszlai at RB in a make-shift set-up for a Champion's League semi-final I'll probably have my head in my hands as we need Szobo in midfield.

Liverpool are reportedly making a last ditch effort to sign Ajax’s Youri Baas and PSV Eindhoven’s Ryan Flamingo

We should have maybe thought twice
