Well it’s a fact and why things went pear shaped
Not just on Slot, Edwards & Hughes also but it beggars belief that after the years starving Jurgen of funds creating a huge kitty, they spend it on a completely untried and untested and ill thought out pipe dream that looks good on paper
Continuity, automation, familiarity not something they understand or appreciate clearly"If Everton were playing at the bottom of my garden, i'd close the curtains”

I could point out that you're falling into the same trap as your mate. Jurgen was starved of funds for years but Slot comes in and wins the league with the same team.
But you're really not worth the effort. Go start a dedicated thread moaning about whatever is on your mind and see how much uptake you get.

You are simply refusing to listen to the facts. And you ignore when people have already posted the info which answers your ridiculous lines of questioning..
The funds do not mean anything on their own. Look at last summer you complete melt. Klopp twice got to withn 1 point of beating a side with 98 and 93 points and came second...
Jurgen got enough points in his final season to have won it last season, despite the handicap of an entire midfield rebuild and an unprecedented injury crisis. But it happened in a season where rivals were better.
Question for Jokestrap:
Do you believe Klopp would have got less or more points last season than the season prior with the squad..?Last edited by Steveo; 10 December 2025, 01:41 PM.

I'm trying but it's difficult when you refuse to answer a single question. What does this mean:
That's your reasoning for why Klopp didn't win the league in his last 4 seasons. Can you at least explain?Klopp's last 4 years were a classic symptom of the owners.
Maybe then all your talk of funds, Slot, points, crisis, rivals will fall into place. But for now, I have no fucking clue what you're talking about.

OK. So what has that got to do with:Originally posted by Steveo View PostJurgen got enough points in his final season to have won it last season, despite the handicap of an entire midfield rebuild and an unprecedented injury crisis. But it happened in a season where rivals were better.
Every time you respond you change the argument in 5 different directions.Klopp's last 4 years were a classic symptom of the owners.

No - every time you invent what I have said. " here is the stripped out quote"Klopp's last 4 years were a classic symptom of the owners."
Please... Jokestrap where is there mention of "why Klopp didn't win the league in his last 4 seasons".. ? You are merely projecting the flawed machinations of your own inadequate intellect
I suggested precisely what is in the quote.. one you have now posted more than once.
And those last 4 years were symptomatic of what I have been saying for years. That klopp was NEVER really backed sufficiently by the owners. It's born out in the net spend table which naturally you won't even look at. At no point have I said it stopped him winning a title because - as we know he still did and managed 97 and 99 and 92 points along the way... However you can back an idiot with funds and it won't make the difference. Klopp however - was the difference, (save the £142 million for Coutinho) the fella didn't have the luxury of buying ready made greats.. he bought Mo - Failed at Chelsea and doing decent in the Italian league and made him a superstar. Mane - very decent at the Saints but never ripping up trees.. got him up there with the best on the planet.. Robbo from Hull - made into way WAY more than he ever attains under any other manager.. Trent - from nowhere to the summit. Bobby from 'Gok Wan lookalike' to 'best in the world' you bampot.
Only one time was he backed sufficiently... The rest of the time he had to work himself and the players into the ground - boom and bust... and that time came exclusively off the back of the money he managed to get for Coutinho. He made him captain HE got him to play football that was out of this world.. Or had you forgotten? Sold his best player to fund what was needed.
Perhaps you did - cause you probably aint a genuine Liverpool fan.. at least that what seems apparent from your questioning of what is so obvious. I imagine your link with the club - starts - after 2010..
So - in those last 4 years you're so keen on focussing on he manages to reconfigure the team so well in 2022 we take 92 points ...play every game which a club team can play. His team on course to win a 20th title with 30 minutes left of the season and losing out on a 7th European cup by a single goal to Real in a game we dominated.
The season following, his midfield is broken, but he struggles through and rebuilds it in ONE single summer - exhausting..... Regardless the mentality is there - they are still running through brick walls for the man.. his team suffer injury after injury yet win the League cup and remain in a quad hunt themselves until late in the season - but they fall short with only 82 points. A decent haul for such a side imo
Last season the season where Klopp' team do win number 20, is 100% his team -
That's the background that highlights WHY he left early - what an amazing leader he was who built teams far greater than the sum of their parts. One that continued for a time last season under Slots coaching and almost certainly as much for Klopp' honour as Arne's..
That's your answer for the second time Jokestrap

Also everything I have said is backed up 100% by the actions of the club this summer. Their belated action ONLY makes sense in light of the above. That we were always doing it with a squad that was too small to do it and expect anything more than a massive crash..

On his question Klopp would have won it in 3 of 4 of those seasons with last seasons points tally
Slot and Klopp both amassed 86 points with that group of players in the past 2 seasons only difference is City and Arsenal both had poor seasons last time out"If Everton were playing at the bottom of my garden, i'd close the curtains”

21-22 93pts won it
22-23 89pts won it
23-24 91 pts won it
21-22 We had 92 points, City were gifted an extra 2 by the Rodri handball they didn’t gave a one given for There were at least 2 games we were robbed of 2 Arsenal Ordergard handball and Spurs off the top of my head
18-19 21-22 we won it if you take the points VAR incorrectly gave or took away"If Everton were playing at the bottom of my garden, i'd close the curtains”

Thanks for finally clarifying. If I strip out the noise I think the quote above captures the premise of your argument. That for the last 4 years (or more) of Klopp's tenure, he wasn't backed properly by the owners.Originally posted by Steveo View PostAnd those last 4 years were symptomatic of what I have been saying for years. That klopp was NEVER really backed sufficiently by the owners.
Unfortunately for you, one of these 2 things has to be true.
1) Klopp wasn't backed well enough by the owners. Therefore the squad wasn't good enough due to under funding. However, Slot took the same squad and won the league. Therefore, he was able to do something that Jurgen couldn't.
2) Klopp was backed well enough to build a title winning squad. He would have won the league had he stayed but it was Slot who took over the reigns and guided that squad to the league title.
Your issue is, you don't want either of those to be true. That's why you keep tying yourself up in knots when I ask you simple questions. You're trying to jump through hoops to make both of the above be false.
It's over chump. Stop pining for Klopp and get behind the current manager.Last edited by JockStrap; 10 December 2025, 04:10 PM.
