It’s always a dumb move to praise the design when luck was the main ingredient,
To be fair to Arne he references luck a few times - because as any manager knows it plays a massive part in this. Sometimes you lose your core players for long spells and some seasons - and they are very rare - you go the entire 38 games and barely suffer any.

Correct he’s absolutely full of 💩Originally posted by Steveo View Post2 points...
Same team - no injuries - second season for entire midfield.. no Afcon - and Salah hit record numbers
keep em coming
Rattling off all the things you and I and a fair few others know identify him a a wum
Last season I posted several times about Slot losing some of the automation and cut and thrust through trying to g to overpass at times, now he accepted this and was fully aware of it and would regularly ask ‘automation stations?’ when Slot had corrected it again
That was in a 433 the bulk of the players had played a number of seasons
Now he’s pretending he doesn’t understand that changing the system entirely from 433 to 4231 and overpassing even more isn’t going to effect that at all
Salah’s been poor because he’s playing deeper, Gakpo too, although he’s only ever second tier anyway because in a 4231 those players are wingers attacking/midfielders who play deeper, with the 9 furthest forward, well our lads are forwards who are used to making runs in behind ahead of the 9"If Everton were playing at the bottom of my garden, i'd close the curtains”

Probably a fair point for the most part but there were some high quality exceptions:Originally posted by justme View PostIf you look at the signings that almost won us the league under Rodgers. they were Kenny's or already at the club. IE Suarez Henderson Sterling, Rodgers signings over all were crap , he could never get the team to defend we conceded 55 goals or something that season and if you look at back 4/5 you can understand why.
Sturridge
Coutinho
Lallana
Milner
Firmino
At a stretch:
Lovren
Emre CanFrom the moment I picked your book up until I laid it down, I convulsed with laughter. Someday I intend on reading it. Groucho Marx

Emre Can was very good - should have stayed.. Didn't see the Klopp revolution did he.
Lallana, Milner and Firmino amount to little but for Jurgen.. Slot wouldn't get much from any of them. Klopp the master at making a very decent player like Bobby - 'the best in the world'. Coutinho - all the talent in the world but ONLY Klopp got him to world class before he went to nowt. Lovren - when paired with a Prime Virgil - yes very good but a calamity before that. Sturridge superb but a cheap buy because he was beyond a sick note. Wonderful striker with technique to die for.. when fit.
