Who says it’s the manager? We don’t have one. We have F$G - ‘Hedwards’ and Slot doing the coaching apparently…

To be fair to slot he should be backed or sacked now,he doesnt deserve the rumours that he is just the 'caretaker' manager untill the end of the season.
We/he need(s) at least a CB this window.it looks life fsg looking for one more bad defeat to pull the trigger, which will happen, sorry jockstrap its when not if.

If we are to pull a trigger at any point this season, you'd think doing so before the Man City game (not too far behind 4th, eight days of prep before that match, will be a World Cup year so a new Manager won't get a good pre-season before 26/27 kicks off) then you'd think in-and-around that Newcastle fixture is the time.Originally posted by Ravo19 View PostTo be fair to slot he should be backed or sacked now,he doesnt deserve the rumours that he is just the 'caretaker' manager untill the end of the season.

Good point but also think he should have gone last sunday, mid week CL game shouldnt be a problem and would have been a good starting point for manager or caretaker.Originally posted by Insidious View PostIf we are to pull a trigger at any point this season, you'd think doing so before the Man City game (not too far behind 4th, eight days of prep before that match, will be a World Cup year so a new Manager won't get a good pre-season before 26/27 kicks off) then you'd think in-and-around that Newcastle fixture is the time.

Who exactly would be better owners?
There's nobody who'd buy a premier league club that's not in it purely for the extraction and exploitation of wealth. It would only be another bunch of US owners who would be part of the same clique that the rest are in.
Newcastle fans found out that it's not always what it might seem to be.
Just realized this is in the wrong thread. Nevermind. Ah lolz..Last edited by teesred; 27 January 2026, 10:39 AM.The defining moments in our lives are never planned.

We'll see what happens.Originally posted by Ravo19 View PostGood point but also think he should have gone last sunday, mid week CL game shouldnt be a problem and would have been a good starting point for manager or caretaker.
Us getting 4 points from our last 15 available while Man United acquired 9 and Chelsea accrued 8 has really knocked my belief that he'll turn it around. The lengthy unbeaten spell needed to start being followed up by wins - the Bournemouth defeat could hardly have come at a worse time.

I wouldn't be sad to see him go anytime now tbh. Sick of this style of football. Would be interesting to see Alonso (if it's him) come in and see if he could get a tune out of these players. I'd be shocked if not. We just seem so defeatist right now.Originally posted by Insidious View PostIf we are to pull a trigger at any point this season, you'd think doing so before the Man City game (not too far behind 4th, eight days of prep before that match, will be a World Cup year so a new Manager won't get a good pre-season before 26/27 kicks off) then you'd think in-and-around that Newcastle fixture is the time. From the moment I picked your book up until I laid it down, I convulsed with laughter. If we're honest we've been largely brutal this season. At times we've shown the ability, particularly against bigger sides but we've mostly been awful to watch, ponderous...content to hang on to possession and then we inevitably crumble when we concede a goal. Complete opposite of what we were as you say....Originally posted by Steveo View PostWe’ve gone from the most exciting team in the land - if not Europe - to a side that puts you to sleep - not to mention that sides like Bournemouth - with what was just 1 win in 13 - can toy with - despite losing 4 of their best players to bigger clubs.
The Mighty ‘Carrier Bag’ awaits… We need to show something more akin to Inter or Marseille than PSV or the season is all but over. From the moment I picked your book up until I laid it down, I convulsed with laughter. Someday I intend on reading it. Groucho Marx

Nah. Everybody is jumping on the boring and ponderous bandwagon. It's just not true. Go back and watch some of the goals. Even the clips I've posted in the channels.
Our main issue has been conceding soft goals which is costing us games we should have won.

That neither passes the eye test or the metrics. We've been pish in all areas for most of the season.Originally posted by JockStrap View PostNah. The Leeds game stands out in my mind as one of the most boring Liverpool games I've ever seen in nearly 40 years of following them. There have been bright spots at times, often in the first half of games but then second half we just retreat and concede, our confidence goes and any shot into the box could end up in the net......Originally posted by jozza800 View PostThat neither passes the eye test or the metrics. That's overblown criticism.Originally posted by jozza800 View PostThat neither passes the eye test or the metrics. We've been pish in all areas for most of the season.
We've been poor in some situations, mostly defensively and through the midfield during counter attacks. And we've struggled offensively to create enough clear chances against low blocks. Those would be valid criticisms. As I keep saying, our big players from last season aren't performing.
There are plenty of other things we've done well. Frimpong and Kerkez are starting to provide width and look threatening. Wirtz is just pure class and Ekitike is brilliant. Those two as a partnership are and will continue to be awesome.
