The problem is that list is just about it... add some midfielders to that list and konate perhaps??Originally posted by Insidious View PostIndeed - every individual there -
Isak
Ekitike
Wirtz
Kerkez
Frimpong
Leoni
I'm happy with "in principle" (we have been unlucky not to really see Leoni or as much as we would like of Isak) and I'd expect most (all?) of them to be playing a part for the next 3-5 years.
Whilst the individual talent is good, the key bit going forward will be the balance. We have quality ingredients but the recipe isn't quite right.
If we can continue to buy quality players, but do so with better prioritisation, we should be fine.
Take out the older boys that are leaving soon or frankly need to go due to their performances, then what are we left with? Mighty gakpo Chiesa ENDO and broken players
They're the only ones reliable and good enough on your list apart from the midfield even then we have issues in the middle and need a no6 not counting Leoni
Also Prime robbo & Trent > Kerkez and Frimpong but we'll see in the future
Generally think if we played in the championship with same squad size (NOT on about QUALITY just in theory if we was a championship club) / Crooked players we'd be fielding 18 year olds every week by now.Last edited by Kev0909; 27 January 2026, 02:23 PM.

The list was of our Summer acquisitions Kev, aka I was happy with each individual that we bought in the window prior to this 25/26 season.
It wasn't a comment on the overall squad.Your hobbies are rollerblading and you're also a bit of a rat-hound? Steel Wool

And I was in a agreement saying pretty much the only players i'm happy with at the moment apart from a few others.Originally posted by Insidious View PostThe list was of our Summer acquisitions Kev, aka I was happy with each individual that we bought in the window prior to this 25/26 season.

I don't, it's not my responsibility to make this decisions or to fix this mess. People being paid a fortune are responsible and they don't listen to me.Originally posted by JockStrap View PostWell that's not a reason to bring him in. You'll need to do better than that.
I'm just giving my opinion in an online forum. Meaningless at the end of the day.

Great postOriginally posted by darrenpotter View PostI bought up in the summer rebuild thread last august that it felt like Souness's mass clear out and it could end up following the same route. Got laughed at and told it was a daft comparison. In the reality of late january i think it safe to say it has been worse than souness. Slot thanks for the league but you need to go.
I mean it is absolute madness it’s not transition
This is the sort of thing you get when a coach goes to a club that has long since fallen from grace and brings a new style of their own to try and revive their fortunes
We just win the fucking league for fucks sake we didn’t need a new fucking style we needed to improve on what we were doing
I can’t believe anyone is supporting this any longer or even bashing title winning players for not performing well in a new system that doesn’t suit their abilities if the fucking Premier League
It’s fucking shite
This only ppl to blame for it are Slot Hughes and Edwards for doing a Souness for recruiting for a system none of the players have played off the back of winning the league ffs"If Everton were playing at the bottom of my garden, i'd close the curtains”

He shouldn’t still be here for me it’s as simple as that every game he’s here does more damageOriginally posted by ianlfc View Post5 wins in 4 months tells its own tale with Awful results and awful performances.
I really do hope he turns it around but I don't think he will.
If we’d binned him in October or November and brought a manager in who sets up how we did for 10 years we’d almost certainly be pushing for the title again now, now question in my mind
It’s not our players, just looking at the turn around elsewhere it’s clearly as simple as formation and playing styles as all those mostly sane players have been absolute shite played in other systems for 3 or more seasons when ours have been excellent and now poor played in a different one
I’m not getting Slot at all, what’s in his mind? That way isn’t working that overpassing won’t ever cut it in the Prem the results and performances continue but to improve but still he persists
If he won’t change it, which he’s shown he won’t thry need to change him and the sooner the better"If Everton were playing at the bottom of my garden, i'd close the curtains”

I have accepted the fact that it's best to just let them.
