I'm absolutely fine with him wanting a bigger squad, really am - but for me it has to work the other way as well.

Lads like Chiesa, Ngumoha and Endo need to get more minutes periodically so that they're less rusty when they do come into the first.

Use them in rotation more often may mean less fatigue/injury for other lads etc etc

Agreed he needs to use the squad better. He obviously doesn't rate or trust those players though. In one way that could be good as he wants a better squad and has standards and if he was here long enough might help raise the level of the over all squad.

If we are all being realistic, as much as we spent in the summer we still lacked a cb and a Diaz replacement. Rio was touted as a possible option at left wing yet after scoring against Newcastle he got very little time. He is getting minutes recently but should have had more.

Slot has been unlucky with injuries but he does need to use his squad more.

You use what you have like Klopp did he has a thin and shit squad it took 3 years to make good and did much better than Slot is, it’s no excuse

Overspent on isak and wirtz not the liverpool way,we could have picked up 4 players with that money and plugged some of the gaps.

I can't help but laugh (not at you Ravo, in generalities) about the window.

For years we have had a portion of the fanbase wanting us to spend big on ready-made talents and act more like Real Madrid - we finally go and do it and much of our fanbase cries out "no, not like that!"

No, I didn't think you were. And to be fair I don't think most people were complaining about the signings.

It's all looking back with hindsight now and blaming the manager.

Yes. The CB was the critical one as it turned out. Konate has been poor all season and we've had no-one to bring in. That might have given us a bit more stability and saved some of those dodgy late goals we've conceded so much. Replacing Diaz was also critical. We lost a lot of depth in Nunez, Jota, Elliot. And then Diaz and Trent from the first team. Despite the outlay we didn't replace some of the grit/pressing that we had. Wirtz is lightweight despite obviously having talent. Isak - haven't seen enough of him tbf. Ekitike- been great. Kerkez struggling. Frimpong has mostly looked good. So, kind of 2 from 5 have been successful with Wirtz showing better lately. Kerkez- jury still out. Isak we need to see more of still.

Klopp's way (maybe through necessity) was to add one or two each season and most of those turned out to be good signings. Keita is one of the few I can think of who didn't. We got some real gems like Matip who was a great player despite some injuries. Some good solid players like Wini. Throwing a load of money at it and bringing loads in at one time has backfired a bit. I think it would have been different had we done that while keeping Diaz and a few of the others but the finance wouldn't have been there.

It's a lesson learnt hopefully. And one most fans could have told the directors.

It’s what they did with Kenny too back him hugely and it backfired

Kenny wasn’t trying to reinvent the wheel like Slot though, just bought expensive British players like Carol and Downing who flopped

Think back to Rafs we’ve not done that well, neither 9 is Torres class and Wirtz is nowhere near Gerrard class and he’s made sure our wide forwards aren’t as good either

I don't know that I love the PSG comment.

I'm not a fan of his latest comment about about being happy to be in the last 16 cos we were in the europa 2 years ago. He is really referencing our downsides to justify this season. Not a good look for him, imo.
