Earlier I mentioned Steve Nicol possibly being on FSG's payroll and being unwilling to tell it like it is, namely that Slot should be sacked. In the video linked below both him and Hislop were talking bollocks, especially Nicol. Both say that Slot should start next season because of the credit he has, or should that be had in the bank.

Nicol says that nobody complained about the signings we made in the summer. He obviously took no notice of the many people that said that after years of neglect we needed at least one top quality CB and a top quality DM. Instead of doing that the club spunked £200m on a pair of forwards that want to play in the same position, and those in charge of transfers screwed up the Guehi deal in not one, but two transfer windows.

Nicol ignores everything that suggests Slot isn't up to the task and that he benefitted from Klopp's legacy, but he grasps at anything to try and excuse Slot no matter how ludicrous it is. You know he's talking crap by how defensive he gets towards the end of the video.

Steve Nicol has been a tit for years. He regularly used to criticise Klopp.
Anyone advocating for him to stay beyond this season isn't paying attention. There's absolutely not one single thing to point towards it being the right thing.

I don't think they'll appoint Alonso. We don't have enough for centre backs to play his system at the moment or at all for most of a season.

I hope alonso is more adaptable than slot.
Slot's failure to change from a 4 2 3 1 which hasnt worked is his biggest failure this season.

The season's a write off, no caretaker manager is going to get that shower of shite into the top 4 or win the CL. Fuck knows who they're going to hire next though. There's only one man for the job imo and that's Klopp. If they are stupid enough to bring Gerrard in we are basically fucked for the foreseeable. He would get that team relegated.

No style is perfect in the premier league. It's all about adapting play. I wouldn't have an issue with Alonso playing style. we have good options to play wing backs in Kerekez and Frimpong.. A more controlled game would suit us. I'm sick of the long balls to wide areas and them being cut out easily. as long as your play is quick and decisive around the opponents box. we need to stop conceding goals for starters and being a counter attacking team may help us.

Teams were very open against us last season.. and that allowed us to attack better with space. this season they have double banked and played in front of their own box more.
so pressing like shit means nothing. if you lose the ball in a high press your wide open, a slow build up.but quicker in the final 3rd is the way to go..
