It's hard to quantify - perhaps it's more like 5% to 95% in terms of ratio - impossible for me to know.

I'd know a few Reds who feel we have a side that is transitioning between two styles and feel that now that we have started the process, we may as well finish it (via transfers) and see what it looks like.

Personally I'd be pretty hesitant about doing that with Slot at the helm. I do see a side transitioning stylistically and I do see areas where we could recruit appropriately for certain set-up options under someone like Alonso.

There's player profiling that could absolutely work for a 3-5-2 but I can understand Reds getting Evans flashbacks and panicking a bit at that prospect.

    • We had begun to look a bit more stable with jones at rb and midfield 2 of gravenberch and sozbo and then slot went with his messy 4 2 2 2 the first half was embarrassing.
Think its also time to judge new boys with ekitikie and kerkez getting a pass, hopefuly isak with a pre season can return to form but wirtz and frimpong not for me.

      • TWO points out of TWENTY FOUR …. Jesus wept.

This was no hard luck story and the statistics are damning - 18 defeats, two points out of a possible 24 away to teams in the top half of the table ,and losing home/away to both Manchester clubs for the first time since 1912-13.
A very bad day for Arne Slot at Old Trafford as the same old issues blight Liverpool.

        • Player are going to need a lift before next season, new faces plus new manager.
Its obvious the players have no confidence in slot and fsg have to act as soon as full time whiste ends the season.

          • Mo is finally saying the quiet part out loud at least.

The way he’s talking about the culture needing a total reset… a massive wake-up call for the squad. He’s calling for a return to that obsessed - 100mph - elite level work ethic we had under Klopp… where second best was never an option.

We all know standards have fallen off a cliff - yet Mo is the only one willing to risk the fallout to point it out.

This is a selfless act - his season is done and is off in the summer. He loves this club - he should be getting respect for this but I am sure media whores like Carra and the shills will try to twist and spin things into something else.

            • I saw his interview / player praise media piece for Sky a few days ago and right at the end he intimated exactly what you've said there.

It sounds like the lads have it pretty easy in training and it's carrying over into match days.

              • It's a fact Chelsea are so damn shit. is what is keeping Slot in a job.. A team like them should be nailed on for top 5. (not saying anyone is guaranteed) But they should have had better form.. and we'd be right in the shit hole..

Add this to a manager who doesn't live in the City and sees it as just a job. He doesn't get it and never will. He allegedly only works a three day week.
It's never going to work with him and we can only hope that at the end of this torrid season hes sent packing.

Irrespective of where he goes, let's hope he is indeed leaving in the summer. If he does leave, let's also hope that he takes some of our underperforming players with him.

Do many cross the De Klassieker divide from a managerial perspective?

Would be a bit like Klopp going to Bayern Munich having managed Dortmund - not impossible, but would be a surprise to me.

                              Yeh,i believe so.
Just cant get behind slot, never gone into games with so many doubts about how its going to go.
He will end up getting sacked but worried he would have already fucked up first 3 months of next season before it happens.
Alonso was rumoured to be the target before slot but now looks like fsg want nothing to do with him.

                              • No wonder they don’t seem hot on Xabi… The hierarchy would never tolerate a prime Rafa Benítez; they have no appetite for a manager who speaks his mind. Jürgen Klopp was and exception - a 'rare animal' whose ability to maximise limited resources made him the perfect fit for the 'buy-to-let' ownership model.

At clubs like Liverpool and also currently Chelsea, the badge has been superseded by the investment vehicle. There is a cynical parallel here to geopolitical hegemony: much US foreign policy that facilitates 'forever wars' to maintain fiat and petrodollar dominance, these owners seek a state of perpetual relevance rather than ultimate victory. Winning trophies is secondary to the primary objective: securing lucrative TV revenue and Champions League qualification with minimal capital expenditure.

For F$G, financial stability is the win - even if it represents a fundamental betrayal of the fans' and players' competitive soul.
