CCTV Gonez at CB syndrome our press and counter press, picking up while in possession as we always should to be ready to win the ball back as quickly as possible is why he didn’t see the ball and it was easy to defend him, easy to see what’s coming for all the defendersOriginally posted by fiordearg View PostIt's almost impossible to have an end product against a very good Arsenal team with limited attacking options. He was outstanding defensively and Saka was taken off as he pocketed him in the 2nd half"If Everton were playing at the bottom of my garden, i'd close the curtains”

He won several challenges and duels and got an optima rating of 7.4 which was 3rd of all our players tonight. Improved massively as the game went on against one of the best wide players in the worldOriginally posted by Nineteenx View PostCCTV Gonez at CB syndrome our press and counter press, picking up while in possession as we always should to be ready to win the ball back as quickly as possible is why he didn’t see the ball and it was easy to defend him, easy to see what’s coming for all the defendersCertified glory hunter

Yes but if the press and counter press are right it makes defending much easier as I explained in ‘That case for the defence’ threadOriginally posted by fiordearg View PostHe won several challenges and duels and got an optima rating of 7.4 which was 3rd of all our players tonight. You see it coming can get tighter and arrive at the player as he receives it"If Everton were playing at the bottom of my garden, i'd close the curtains”

Whilst I don't think we go all the way this season, I still maintain we have a reasonable chance in Europe.Originally posted by Creator Supremes View PostIf they blow a title again it'll be the funniest of all.
Hope we draw them in the CL and blast them out of it on the scoreboard.
We've managed two matches against Arsenal, who are undeniably (albeit annoying to admit) one of the best sides in Europe at the present moment (which can of course change quickly) and we haven't conceded. Meanwhile in our League phase games we have done enough to be in contention for automatic qualification.
It'd require some luck (always does) but it's 6 games to reach a Final, with 3 of them at Anfield under the lights in a season where fans need a distraction from a Domestic campaign that couldn't get going. You just never know.
Anyway - much as I'd have loved a win tonight, will absolutely take the goalless draw when I had anticipated conceding to 2 silly set pieces or an undeserved penalty. Man United and Chelsea failed to gain ground on us and we don't have to play Arsenal (in the League) again, so small victories.
Hopefully we can find more attacking threat but that was a respectable performance.Your hobbies are rollerblading and you're also a bit of a rat-hound? Steel Wool

It was a strange match. Obviously a good result and I think a good performance, at least a battling performance. We actualy played quicker for spells, moreso than we have for most of the season, but offset it by playing without a striker... And it was mental seeing Gakpo almost playing as a 3rd CB at times!
Arsenal may well end up as champions, but I can't see them dominating, especially if Arteta remains in charge.Something, Something, Something, Dark Side
