He was in charge of identifying and signing players in and selling or loaning players out was he not?Originally posted by Kev0909 View PostAll on hughes and nothing to do with the owners, yep
I very much doubt the owners get involved in that"If Everton were playing at the bottom of my garden, i'd close the curtains”

well what I do agree with 60m should've been spent in January for now and not risk top5 & giving us a better chance in fa cup / champs leagueOriginally posted by Nineteenx View PostHe had 420 million plus another 60m for Jacquet
Sure the owners do have some say too though.Last edited by Kev0909; 17 February 2026, 03:32 PM.

Not risking top 5 would have involved Hughes having the understanding of the game to not back Slot based on something the players had never played and he’d never implemented as manager he dreamt up
Wirtz is a very good player, we win the league at a canter without him and we didn’t need him has always been my point on him and that hasn’t changed
Slot has changed based on the last few games, he’s reverted to letting the players play to their strengths and dropped the Dutch exclusively short passing garbage and is trying to re-establish and repair playing as we did for 10 years from
The last few games I watched
We recruited for a way of playing we’d never played and it didn’t work We recruited players like Isak who’d never played that way and only had Wirtz who had played it in a different formation
What could possibly go wrong"If Everton were playing at the bottom of my garden, i'd close the curtains”
