for the shit season we are having.. at least we have seen some promising stuff from our new signings. Ekitike the stand out. with his running style really reminds me of Torres. Looks to have a neat finish on him as well. Kerkez as improved a lot after his first few months at the club. Still needs to be better at defending at times. Frimpong looks a handful when he overlaps .
I'm undecided on Wirzt.. And Isak as been injured. We have a decent squad. it's just light in back up numbers and qualityCleaning up the Scots since the 13th century

Seen some images today, appears to be a deep, deep wound on the thumb - could easily have lost the upper half of that digit.Originally posted by Insidious View Post......has that lad lost the tip of his finger???
Poor lad - the amount of nerve endings in fingers and thumbs is insane. I have had all sorts of wild falls throughout the years, many from height, have hit my shins off the edge of brick walls etc etc and nothing - and I mean NOTHING - compared to when my finger was cut deep and broken in two places as I retrieved a food item from deep in my dog's throat as he had choked and passed out. He bit down instinctively as he regained consciousness (can't blame him like) and at first I felt no pain - then after a few minutes I was properly squirming around.Your hobbies are rollerblading and you're also a bit of a rat-hound? Loved last night but it was our 'perfect storm',champions league night at anfield against poor opposition(alisson only saw the ball when we passed it back to him)
Ive been saying for months to try salah in a front 2,playing narrower in and around the box and with frimpong supplying width, salah was popping up everywhere in the box.

Think there were a few things that were different last night. We played Szobo central. He's our best player so needs to be central. Frimpong a threat from RB. The players had drive and were up for it. Possibly the biggest thing. Did Slot let them off the leash? If so, this shows that they've been told to pass sideways all season as suspected. Let's be honest, Salah was awful for most of the game, despite assisting and scoring. He made a hash of umpteen attacks. He missed a peno trying to be clever. Even though it was great to see him score, he's got to be gone next season if we want to kick on.Originally posted by faridtoxteth View PostSharp, hard working, confident, brilliant press. We know this squad is full of talented players so why do we not see it every week?
Is it really down to the fact that our foreign players value the champions league as vastly more important than the domestic league? From the moment I picked your book up until I laid it down, I convulsed with laughter. Someday I intend on reading it. Groucho Marx

Salah had a great 2nd half with keeper making 2 great saves and hitting crossbar, playing him narrow in a front 2 with frimpong supplying width allowed him to get in the box more.Originally posted by Red October View PostThink there were a few things that were different last night. Bump.. from barely 15 minutes in and in response to they play acting no doubt...Originally posted by Steveo View PostSlots going berserk on the touchline
Had it's effect... Showed the fans he DOES care... gave the players the kick up the jacksie most of us have wanted to see all season.

Yes, he was much more involved but if you watch back his involvements, most of them resulted in the messing up of an attack. The peno was the epitome of that. You had a feeling that he might miss. Last season, you knew that was in the net. I don't want to bash the guy after one of his best games this season. He just needs to be gone as what I've seen of him this season shows a selfish guy getting paid huge sums and showing a laissez-faire attitude which will rub off on younger hungry players. Salah's been there and done it and I think his attitude shows that in a bad way.Originally posted by Ravo19 View PostSalah had a great 2nd half with keeper making 2 great saves and hitting crossbar, playing him narrow in a front 2 with frimpong supplying width allowed him to get in the box more. From the moment I picked your book up until I laid it down, I convulsed with laughter. Penalty miss FINALLY forcing the real Mo Salah to turn up? Did Slot finally let loose in the Changing room at HT? maybe he watched Mike Bassett: England Manager.. and thought - you know what - it just might work with this lot?????Originally posted by Ravo19 View PostSalah had a great 2nd half with keeper making 2 great saves and hitting crossbar, playing him narrow in a front 2 with frimpong supplying width allowed him to get in the box more.
Whatever it was... La Bombonera or not - keep doing it... Better than Dj'ing in Ibiza ah Arne?

Will Slot get the message that turgid-ball doesn't work? Or will we revert to type in the league? If we go out like that against PSG we might have a chance. At least we can go down in a blaze of glory. Would rather that than us just tepidly passing it around for 45 minutes only for PSG to kill us in the end anyway.Originally posted by Steveo View PostPenalty miss FINALLY forcing the real Mo Salah to turn up? Fact 1,salah has been shit this season.Originally posted by Red October View PostYes, he was much more involved but if you watch back his involvements, most of them resulted in the messing up of an attack. Fact 2,salah had a good game last night.
Nobodys saying extend his contract, this season slot has to get the best out of the players he has, formation change is number one but playing salah in and around box instead out on the touchline is another.
