End of an era. Hope he gets everything he wants / needs in the latter part of his career.

Who knows what he's got left, but at £400k a week we can't afford for him to have another season like this.

Hopefully we'll still get a decent fee for him.

Will definitely mean that we'll be after a RW in the summer.

I think the announcement coming out now will reduce any transfer fee we might get.

Unless something has already been lined up. Otherwise, why come out with it now?

Maybe his injury is worse than thought? So announce it now knowing he might not play much?

Very sad as he's one of the greatest legends to have played for this club.

Was it a season too far? Maybe, I just wish he could be leaving on a high. Last season could have been perfect.

I do wonder if this season would have gone better for him under a different manager (not trying to de-rail and turn into a Slot thread, just wish his final season was as good as he deserves).

Wow, this feels like a gut punch. In an already difficult season.
Thank you for the memories and pray there are more to be made in the next two months.
An absolute colossus on the field in one of my favourite periods of supporting our club.
Feels like a massive piece of that doubter to believers jigsaw Jurgen built is departing.
Think it'll be the same gut punch like this when VVD and Alisson also leave.

No one player is bigger than this club at anytime though, we will reinforce and rebuild.

Sad now it's happening but I think it's the right thing. None of us are ever gonna forget him and what's he's done at Liverpool.
He's been a huge part of what I'd say has been the best era of supporting Liverpool in most of our lifetimes on here.

                    Heart says absolutely incredible memories.

Head says we can't carry a £400k-per-week forward who only has 5 League goals this season.

I will be focusing on the Heart side of things and rewatching a heap of his career highlights. Oddly enough about an hour before seeing the announcement I had watched his 50 Champion's League goals as a compilation.

What an unreal servant to the club. There may have been one or two moments we didn't like in the media and we might have wanted to see him get us over the line in Finals but my word, what an insane contribution of goals and assists to catalyse some of our success.

                      Why is anyone surprised??

Thought it was pretty obvious when he signed for two years it was so we could get a fee for him from Saudi when he finishes.

And as for timing of the announcement, wasn’t everyone saying we needed to say a proper goodbye to our legend??

Plenty of opportunity now until the end of the season.

Best for both parties, his last hurrah was last season and a title win.

No problem for me whatsoever, perfect timing.

                        There won't be one -

"Mo Salah will leave Liverpool on a free transfer. Parties came to an agreement over a termination in a similar manner to the exit the club negotiated with Jurgen Klopp when he decided to leave #LFC"

It's only perfect timing if we had got a decent fee for him, and a top quality manager replaced Slot and was given that money plus a fair chunk more to get in a top drawer replacement that they want.

As it stands we're losing our one and only pacey, skilful right sided attacker for naught, and we've got a manager, CEO and sporting director who I currently wouldn't trust to get in a good replacement and get the best out of them.

That’s crazy, surely worth £30m + to one of the Saudi clubs

You would have thought so. Apparently his contract was ammended. Something certainly stinks to high heaven.
