He won't stay, hes got one season left on his contact. and i doubt they'll give him funds for new players. with him only having what 9/10 months left?. Hes gone and knows it, and quite rightly. hes not been able to sort out the issues thats been going on since the end of last seasonCleaning up the Scots since the 13th century

It's as clear as day for months we've been treading water under this guy. What the fuck are they actually waiting for?Something, Something, Something, Dark Side

The big take from that was how quickly/easily we downed tools,no fight,no leadership on or off pitch which is 100% on manager.
Hate to keep bringing up klopp but he wouldnt have just stood there and watched.
Fsg have to take a lot of blame had plenty if chances to get shut of slot, alonso could have been here 10 days ago.

I did jump in - to be honest I hadn't read the initial comment and factored in your thinking - I took it as a comment purely on todays performance by the players..Originally posted by jozza800 View PostYou're the one that jumped in. eggy said that the players weren't good enough, to which I disagreeed.
You then brought Klopp into the convo...
All teams are more than the sum of their parts and you need a manger to bring them all together.
I dont even know what you're arguing against to be honest.
Nobody would say that about this group of players in general terms - especially serial winners like Virgil and Mo..?
I do think you are overly sensitive to this. You always assume we win titles because we have the best players.. And again this simply isn't true. It never was.

The sense of inevitability once they scored is arguably the damning bit for me.Originally posted by teesred View PostOnly just had chance to check score. Wow. I thought we'd lose but fuck me.
I actually thought we were "okay" for the first 33/34 minutes and yet the game is absolutely gone by half-time. That level of capacity for wilt within the squad is the antithesis of the fighting spirit we would have seen under Benitez (until 09/10) or Klopp.
There's a particular performance we had where the feeling was exactly the same in terms of the lack of confidence, it was years ago, maybe under Rodgers (?) but could have been before - if anyone can work it out I'd be pleased as I don't recall the final score (unhelpful) but I am almost certain it was against Arsenal and that Glen Johnson was in the squad.
Anyway - I'm almost certain we were 2-0 up in the match and the opposition scored (ball-park 65th minute) and even though we were still 2-1 up in the match and still winning, the players all looked absolutely despondent - we subsequently went on to lose the game.
The mental fragility we had at the time, for our players to believe a game was gone when we still had a one-goal lead, was one of the most alarming displays of a lack of self-belief that you could imagine - and it has to be said that we look like that right now, which is frankly pretty sad after the decade of "intensity is our identity" we had under Jürgen.
Wednesday is some ask - we're not good enough in either box and you wouldn't back us to control the middle either. It'd take one of those performances where everyone digs in and we're incredibly efficient with our chances (golf club Bellamy celebration at the Camp Nou sort of game) for us to get out of that game and you wouldn't back Slot or the lads to produce just now.
Deflating afternoon that - if we somehow find something for Wednesday then someone (likely the travelling fans, if anyone) will deserve huge credit.Your hobbies are rollerblading and you're also a bit of a rat-hound? Steel Wool
