Hughes’ sister - speaking da lingo![]()
Pretty sure I wasn’t the only one who suggested Slot was brought as he would tow the company line and Hughes’ experience of bringing in players for Bournemouth in no way prepared him for signing players for Liverpool.
Both scapegoats in their own way .. which one will get blamed and sacked first I wonder.
FSG are an utter disgrace
Seen that video loads of times. apparently it took loads of takes to get the Japanese ladies part correct. they were laughing that much and thats how it should be.. theres fk all malice involved.. Like mind your language what a great comedy..
Cleaning up the Scots since the 13th century
My prediction for how this transfer window will end. Plenty more players to be shipped out. VVD & Salah will leave for NOTHING at the end of season. TAA will be offered a big new contract, will be one of the highest earners at the club. Gordon will be signed as the marquee signing. “We brought in a new player ,so stop yr whinging”. Let see what happens 😉
You could have seen all this coming a mile away.
In fact, we all did.
It's the same story every summer, now.
The longer the window went without any (actual) movement on our end or any incoming - while our rivals in the league were busy refreshing their squads and getting their business done - the more likely we were going to end up exactly where we are with the club once again having been made to look like mugs.
The whole, "Wait until late to start your transfer business/...then take forever to get anything done,... if at all/...have no backup plan or viable plan 'B' (outside panic last-day-of-the-window loans for crocks)" Foolproof strategy has really worked a treat for us over the past couple of seasons.
You could have been forgiven for believing that with Edwards coming back, they were going to sort out this sort of mess, and that for once (in a long time) we would have a professionally-conducted and swiftly-run transfer window.
I can't wait to see who we get on loan the day before the window closes - especially with any club we go to now knowing we're desperate, and with them eager to lump on us their castoffs and crocks.

Zubi-zubi-zubi-whoooooooo :lmao:
It's frustrating, for sure.
It's kind of mad the difference one transfer can make to perception - particularly one that doesn't happen.
There have been a number of shouts about how "embarrassing" this is for us, yet if we pull it off (or got a different high-quality mid in like Varela) then the talk from rival fans (who we shouldn't pay much heed to anyway!) would likely be to the tune of wondering how we conducted a midfield rebuild so quickly.
If it had been Varela coming in say (just to have an example) and we had brought in Szoboszlai, Mac Allister, Gravenberch, Endo and Varela within a 12-month period then our capacity to rebuild a component of our team quickly would look excellent. One signing makes that difference.
If we don't bring in a number 6 in this window, we really need to conduct business to strengthen a different area of the side. Much as I think our attempt will be next season (only one year left on his deal by then) I would definitely be weighing up another attempt at Gordon let's say, or an alternative target to bring our attack up to 6 players again rather than the 5 it's currently at.
