Cleaning up the Scots since the 13th century
Takes plenty of luck on the injury front OR a bigger squad to win the big one.
So if we don't invest this January, but go on to win the League, it will be "luck" then, rather than the Manager and playing staff?
Quite a handy stance that. If we don't win the League, you get to say "I told you so" but if we do win the League, it was "luck" and you told us so.
Neat.
Aw Sid showing yourself up a bit now. Bit small-time really. Where did I say "luck" as single factor ? You seem to be keen to have a pop. Whats eating you?
I said "luck on the injury front" which is definitely needed for any smaller squad to win a 38 league Premier league title.
Sorry if that seems overly harsh but it just feels a little rich from someone who hasn’t put a single penny of their own into the club - at least when it counts - on a match day, whose never given their voice to the players on the pitch…….having a pop at those who travel up and down the land to do just that - in an attempt to defend the billionaires profiteering on the institution.
Be honest - you’re bricking it that we fuck it up - not because we will have fucked it up - but because you know full well who will be the most responsible . That’s the problem. You seem to be more a fan of the owners than the club.
My point on the squad size and “luck on the injury front” needed - were made to explain the dilemma the club has in going for domestic cups vs bumming them off in favour of the league. Arsenal seemingly bummed them off last 2 seasons and went to the wire in the title hunt… Where do we think we will go this term?
Fair comment mate. One of my pals thinks the same.
I just personally see a huge opportunity that could be capitalised on, obviously there's no guarantee but we could do it now or do it later. Doing it now would do absolutely no harm at all whereas doing it later could IMO.
I've limited time to reply at work so I'll zone in on the stand-out point for now.
The above notions are beyond laughable.
I have next to zero fear that we will "fuck it up" - I have huge faith in the manager and playing staff. If others don't, they don't. I'm really comfortable with our position - it's much better than chasing - MUCH better.
As to being more of a fan of the owners than the club, nah - following us through the 90s and 00s would have been quite the waste of my time. I've laid out my stance on an ideal fan incorporated ownership set-up in great detail in one of the threads (threads which are sadly now deleted) and you yourself were one of the ones who said you understood where I was coming from (though you continued to disagree on FSG in a "pro v against sense, which you're of course entitled to do).
I think the fact that the below...
...isn't the "the stand-out point " is probably more telling than your protestations.
And there you go again.. intimating that I don't have "faith in the manager and playing staff"? How do you get to that? Because I feel that we need some signings? Because I can see that key positions have been neglected leaving ageing stars to struggle? Because in key areas there's little to no opportunity for rotation?
These are all factors in what is needed to maintain a title challenge - especially IF we are going to compete in the domestic cups while aiming for a CL too.
I don't get it.
