In my honest opinion I think this Summer we need to Prioritise in this order, the following areas with New signings.
1. New Left back, Robbo as back up / competition and lose Tsimikas.
2. New Right back as Back up / competition to Bradley if we do lose Trent.
3. New CF, New Centre forward, keep Jota in the short term, lose Nunez.
4. New CB succession planning / competition cover for VVD and Konate, lose injury prone Gomez.
However, not sure we will make 4 signings this summer, but we did a couple of seasons ago, so maybe we will again.
The following positions to be addressed in the January or Summer Transfer window of 2026, but in the meantime, the following options we can consider to strengthen next season from within the Club.
5. Back up DM. Give Bajetic his opportunity to shine, keep Endo.
6. Back up RW. Give Chiesa and Ben Doak more opportunities to shine in lesser games.
7 Back up AM. Give Elliott more opportunities to shine and cement his future at LFC.
Hey ho…opinions eh, like a*******s we all have one.
The centreforward rumours are interesting. Presently there's about a bit of talk about Isak to LFC from the cup final online lip readers...... it's a rumour
Realistically any analysis of our stats shows it's Salah v Gakpo, Jota, Diaz & Nunez combined for Xg & goals. Similar on Xa & Assists.
In our system/team Salah gets as many opportunities to score and assist as our left wing forward & centreforward combined, up against the 4 other players who start there mostly: Diaz, Gakpo, Nunez & Jota.
Isak is Newcastles Salah & Vice versa. Same with Halaand. So if we sign him, he'll be playing in a side with Salah.
Now if that worked out well for us. It might see both Jota & Núñez shipped out. I rate Nunez highly and would keep him over Jota on availability.
But Isak would be starting most games you'd imagine.
Meaning Diaz, Gakpo, Jota, Nunez & Chiesa maybe even Elliott too would be vying for the one start.
At the minute it looks like Jota is highly ranked by Slot. Maybe he's in the shop window.
Looks like Darwins in the doldrums having been in form relative to others starting recently.
Chiesa barely seen and Elliott not got much of a sniff. Again in good form recently.
It'll be interesting to see what happens. For me Slots refused to start form players who've bailed him out and it's cost him/us recently. To keep that part/moan brief, it's not a great sign for said players.
Giorgi will arrive to replace Kelleher by reports.
Frimong, Kerkez, Guehl, Zubminedi/2.0 & Isak have gotten mentions.
A big realignment in defence seems to be on the cards.
1 Replacing Trent, and 2 the previously departed Matip with 3 Robbo moving to a Milner role.
4 Maybe a Zubi/midfielder arrives. Endo, Elliott, Morton all taking seniors berths in the squad, and young Bajcetic returning from loan. 4 players who'd be on the chopping list.
5 Maybe Isak arrives, a media darling. Some of Nunez, Jota, Chiesa & Diaz (to Barca rumour) could be chopped likewise.
If you think FSG are cheapskates or trying to stay good with ffp/etc then Diaz to Barca could provide some funds.
For me
Kelleher, Trent, Tsimi, Endo, Morton & Jota are leaving.
Giorgi, Frimpong, Kerkez, Guehl, Zubminedi-2.0 & Isak arrive.
3 Keepers
Alisson/Giorgi/Jaros
9 Defenders
Frimpong/Bradley/Konate/Guehl
VVD/Quansah/Gomez/Kerkez/Robbo
6 Midfielders
Grav/Zubi2.0/Maca/Jones/Sobozla/Elliott
6 Attackers
Salah/Chiesa/Isak/Nunez/Diaz/Gakpo
That's a 24 man squad with 5 further additions to Giorgi. And 6 leaving.
It's a 25 man squad if Bajcetic counts as a senior player. Doak as I recall will qualify as a youth.
Our presumed best 11 & cup team would be
Alisson
Frimpong Konate VVD Kerkez
Grav Maca
Salah Sobozla Diaz
Isak
Giorgi
Bradley Guehl Quansah/Gomez Robbo(c)
Zubimendi Jones
Chiesa Elliott Gakpo
Núñez
