A fee in the region of £10m-£12m is expected to be agreed soon. The Scotland international, who's in the final year of his contract, has given the green light to a move to Spain.'

    Source google

    so gotta be true lol

Question is, is he worth keeping a extra year for that amount + wages?

Does he want to go ?

If he wants to go, then fair enough

If he wants to go fair enough is right.
But if love to keep him. I think he is one of those players that's great to have around the squad. Also fear we are clear g out too many at one time.

Pretty sure he fancies trying Spain for a couple of years, no problem with that at all, he’s not going to be first choice so can’t blame him for fancying something different. Not as if it’s a small club he’s going to either

Yes there’s that and the slight sliver of hope that it makes Atletico more malleable to our designs on Julián….

In fairness its a match made in shithouse heaven robertson and simeone. Wish him.all the best if he moves, the mistakes are more frequent and he'll be second choice moving on. Has provided some great memories. If he departs does that signal the last player associated with plg?

Devil's Advocate - is there a better time to continue to transition towards bringing talent in and refreshing than when you have just won a League and some of the newer (relatively speaking) players have contributed?

Salah, Van Dijk, Alisson would still be here.

Mac Allister, Szoboszlai and Gravenberch are a midfield unit that now has a League title under its belt, with Konaté a key centre-back in the spine - some of those players could effectively become part of the "leadership group" - Mac Allister certainly has enough about him.

Mamardashvili, Wirtz (?), Frimpong and Kerkez (?) could be absolutely excellent for us.

Has to happen at some point, whether it's this Summer or next. It's a fine balance, but I am optimistic that we can transition without too much discomfort.

Yes - this is the dream scenario. I mean…we’re an absolute nightmare for anyone - absolutely anyone with that artillery,
