Diaz was at his best by far pre injury in his first half a season when he joined. He was so good in fact that he displaced Sadio Mane out wide - who got shifted to the center. 2023/24 was always going to be tough with both parents being kidnapped. Kinda shifts your focus a little. But I guess some cherry picked stats over 2 seasons can tell us that

This season both he and Gakpo competing for a place has been very healthy for both.

Lose Diaz and we have a problem. This is the point for those without an agenda

I wouldn't be selling any of our attackers now, losing Jota to tragedy enough of a turnover.
For me each of our attackers get a rough time of it on here.

As said Diaz improved his key attacking stats under Slot, even moreso than Gakpo under Slot.

Essentially his career rate at LFC.
In 22/23 he produced a goal or assist per 169.6 minutes.
23/24 his worst season for goals & assists per minute.
24/25 his best at LFC to date for end product.

If we lose Diaz we could suffer. As mentioned a few times - he was clearly our biggest threat outside Salah last term and at times our biggest. He makes things happen. Gakpo who isn’t at Diaz’s level got a shot in the arm with a new Dutch coach but still had to perform to get any minutes, Lose Diaz and Gakpo’s level drops too.

I think he could go - if he does we will need a very very good replacement

Both improved under Slot in terms of end product.

This season Diaz reached a level of end product produced by Gakpo last year.

This was replied to with some basic stats & analysis. Goals & assists, Gakpo outperforming Diaz this year and last year. Diaz's end product improving moreso under Slot than Gakpo.

Instead of replying on topic, you seem to want to talk about Diaz's 1st half season. Which has little relevance to the matter at hand.
