Just using your post as a springboard miller - what would anyone give Diaz in terms of wages, if it were up to them - and how long a contract?

What is he currently on? 60k per week?

I’d offer him a 3 year deal on 120k - 150k


On the flip side, if we could get 60+ mill for him and could replace with a younger player (like Gordon) then I’d also consider it.

This is a big part of my "issue" (for want of a better word, as I rate him) with Diaz.

If we spend a considerable amount on upping his wages, we have that initial expense, then need to go and buy another player in a few years anyway.

Whereas if we take a fee for him now, we offset some of the cash required on getting a replacement in and (provided we buy a young player) we get those same three years or whatever of service, plus more.

I think I'll be content with whatever choice the club makes on this score - he is a great player if we keep him and we can future-proof the attack if we don't, so I am relatively chilled as we probably "win" either way - but I'd probably sliiiiiiightly lean towards taking a fee in the current situation. Again, not too bothered either way, just a slight preference in the circumstances.

- It's money to invest into a younger attacker
- It clears a non-Homegrown spot, opening doors for us to continue transfer activity
- It ends this media debacle about wages and/or Barcelona

I reckon if we get close to an 80m offer for Diaz he goes and we get isak. Looks semi logical at the moment looking at rumours. Will we play wirtz in left or will we be a new look side next season shape wise.

Nunez seems a nice fella but has struggled at liverpool.
But he's a red and i agree with the growing call to give him another season as well as buying a new striker.
