We need another forward and at least one centre back.

Maybe a Rickie Lambert, a Balotelli or a deadline day loan deal...

Did we really need Ekitike? Probably not as there's other options we could have looked at and everyone is a little perplexed as to where he fits in at the moment, it's a lot to pay for a backup if that's what he's going to be granted he can play in different positions.

Seems a bit underhanded overall and I'm not keen on how we've gone about this.
We hate it when Real do it but we've pretty much done the same.
yeah not so sure myself, Ekitike looks good but a bit random, we don't even know if he'll contribute more than Nunez.

if it wasn't for wirtz I wouldn't be so sure on this window so far myself, it's good but not the best ever like some make out, after the players we've lost, that all helped and contributed to winning ths league but we like to forget about that, new shiny toys to play with.

Only could happen to us. We finally step up and want to buy top shelf players. Nothing seems to be straight forward. We had the same problem bringing in VVD. Only way we get Isak is if does what Arsenal new striker did and refuse to train.

We should have signed Sesko and then loaned him to Newcastle in exchange for Isak. or something.

I don’t see it as underhanded, we are offering to pay the British record for a player, the absolute opposite to how Real go about it.

It’s Newcastle’s own fault that they are in this situation. Had they given him the new contract they promised him last year, he wouldn’t be looking to leave. He also told them last season it would be his last, way before we made our interest known.

I really don’t see what the club have done wrong here, we made an offer, they said no so we have left it, until they tell us to bid again as we may get the player.

The major issue here is between the player and his existing club.

I don’t think any of us would have thought Real underhand had they come in and offered us a record fee for Trent instead of telling him to run his contract down to go on a free.

if we can't do any better, even if that means a couple of players which will make us do better, than just isak..... for 150m, the worlds gone mad

Not saying he's shit but ffs

should've signed Gyokeres- to replace Nunez oh noes he's 27 yeah but one of the most clinical strikers going and not 150m

Him and a top CB would've done us well

Aye I see your points there Miller. It just seems we've thrown a bit of a grenade in there and walked off but you are right in the sense that Newcastle knew or atleast had an idea he wasn't staying.
Not our fault I guess that they seem to be struggling to get players in and they've possibly used this situation as a deflection of that?
Obviously we have done homework on Ekitike and he's someone they clearly wanted but maybe we could have sweetened things by letting Newcastle have a free run at him in order to smooth out the Isak deal.
It'll leave a bad taste for Newcastle and some might say that's business but I do think we could have possibly gone about things better.
The defining moments in our lives are never planned.

No one wants to go to Newcastle and players want to leave.. Isak will be forced to stay by the looks of it.

Thinking the same, players will have 2nd thoughts if isak isnt allowed to leave.

We have to pay a record to get there. If we didn’t have to we would do precisely what Real do. Surely everyone knows this?

But we can’t claim the title of the greatest club side in history - we aren’t located in the heart of the spanish capital and until Klopp rocked up - players were putting us behind Spurs

Well Real take players on a free at the end of their contract so I am missing the point spectacularly I’m afraid

Because they can miller - because they can. Do you really believe we would act differently in their completely unique position?

                                I don’t see it.
