That would leave us better off but not by much.

If FSG had a certain net spend in mind for this window, including signing Isak and Guehi, then I'd imagine their masterplan included the sales of Elliott and Tsimikas, possibly Chiesa, none of which look to be happening.

So I'll be surprised if we get Guehi and Isak without selling someone, late as it is.

I think the club know it will be Konate’s last season so if Guehi comes in, he would be the one to sell or they will need another next summer.
And Konate isn’t budging as he’s going on a free to Real, where, like Trent, he’ll find himself on the bench.

You mean 3rd choice probably a kid because gomez injured most of the season no doubt.... and more of a utility player... not to mention konate is pants and his head is at real madrid

I'd try and keep all 5 for one season at least.

Gomez's ability (when fit, which often isn't the case, granted) to do a 7/10 job at centre-back, left-back and right-back is not something to sniff at.

@_pauljoyce: Liverpool would not agree to Joe Gomez moving on loan to Crystal Palace as a makeweight in a potential deal for Marc Guehi. Palace have been looking at that possibility but a non starter for Liverpool due to Gomez versatility.

Good question and one I’ve been thinking about for a while.

I would say it’s been a typical window for Liverpool, bought some good players and sold well but ultimately left us short in key areas.

If nothing happens then you know Slott will come out saying we have enough cover but is that quality good enough to win multiple trophies.

If there's no more signings it'll be a poor window. Nobody could say we are stronger.

But in the big scheme of things it is a consequence of doing nothing last summer.
