Had Mo, Frimpong and Hugo had their shooting boots on he'd have had 3 assists last night.

Grav getting caught on the edge of the oppo box isn't helping. But It must be by instruction, because even Endo was in the oppo box for one of Bournemouth's goals.

There's squeezing play, then there's just trying to ram everyone into the oppo's penalty area.

        Great win in the end.

Did they (VAR) review the first Athletico goal as one of the players looked offside to me and was stood right in front of Allison?
It should have been disallowed and their equaliser took a massive deflection.

        • oh and miller you were right about that goal… Griezman is bang interfering with Alisson’s line of sight. I thought I had seen the action in-line but had not.

How VAR doesn’t spot that… ? Suspicious in the extreme. Didn’t trust an Italian Ref choice either.. Simeone has plenty of connections to Italian football. Smells a bit off to me this one.

What about the pen that he gave in the first half. Christ knows what he saw with that one!

Yep... that was embarrassing...makes you wonder if the guy has ever reffed a football match. He did look pretty clueless.

              • I wonder what was said Diego Simeone by one our faithful's? what ever it was.. it was like lighting a blue touch paper., He went mental.. and he was so uncharacteristic calm for the match.

They might have called the deflection off Konate as an attempt to play the ball voiding the offside. When it was a block.

As I recall this new interpretation was introduced via pfmol/var involving a Harry kane goal and a Lovren attempt to block being categorised as an attempt to play/pass when in reality he was defending and trying to block a ball getting to an offside Kane.

                        • Wirtz showed some great touches. For me, the front four of Szoboslai as a kind of 10, behind Ekitike with Wirtz out left and Salah out right, is the way to go.
On two occasions Wirtz and Szoboslai got in each others way going for the same ball in the box. This shows that they really are a new group of players finding their relative positions.

It's identical to the Lovren situation. And we've been wronged on both instances of the law.

Agreed. But I actually think we were better before Mac came on. Szobo has the athleticism to recover as 1 of the 2 mids (and did on more than on occasion).

We are a bit disjointed at the moment, but there are flashes and I'm excited to see what we look like when/if it all clicks.

                              • Isak was class for 15 minutes in second half before he ran out of steam. The way he received the ball opening up shooting chances in one touch insideva crammed box is very exciting.
