We are struggling no matter what tactics opposition teams employ. We have deserved very little this season other than what we've been handed in our last four games.

He also hit the post in the first half when he should have scored and killed several of our attacking moves with miplaced passes and bad decision-making dribbling into walls of defenders. And was generally gash like the rest of the team in the first half.

But sure, let's pretend like the rest of that didn't happen.

        • Only saw the second half.
What i would take away: ekitike must start. Chiesa must start. Salah must not. Isak bench. Konate was better. Frimpong for salah? Frimpong showed more than salah in a few minutes. Gakpo i wouldn't be too hard on. Yes he missed some, one a sitter. But at least he's getting on the end of things. Wouldn't drop him. Wirtz was okay. Getting better.

          • How can Virgil say we are far too rushed. The problem is we are playing at a fucking snails pace until we are a goal behind and chasing the game in second half.

It's ridiculous. Starting games with something he hopes clicks and when it doesn't just starts playing substitute bingo.
We've barely deserved to win a game all season, we are getting close to a quarter in and not looking like we're close to clicking at all and the worrying part is there's just been zero control in dny game.
It was always going to be difficult to integrate so many and there was a danger of too many changes but I think we are entitled to expect a bit more from the new recruits but there's also the form of existing players.

              • Losing at home to a shite Manc team with Slab head hitting the winner. Wow only we can do this. No more of this shit.
Now off to waste energy in the champions league.

                • Glad I did overtime, this was pretty predictable to be honest

Slot ain't going to be the man to sort this I hope i'm wrong

Not calling him to go, just can't see how he'll fix this without even more transfers, heads should roll in the transfer department.

Looks like we start playing too late in the game. Why not start with ekitike and chiesa? Instead of chasing the game.

Smallest mercy it wasn't at the Kop end.
Although those sewer rats will have a song about it already no doubt.

Slot doesn't rate chiesa. Or has an issue with him.

Ekitike should be the starting cf based on performances. But isak was bought as the main guy. I'd say they expect Ekitike to start how he has. But I agree, he shoukd be starting right now. Ease isak into the team.

Slot needs to show something in the next few weeks to turn this around.

                        • Could the keeper have came and punched the Fernandez cross? It was up there for quite a bit and he was only 5 yards away from where maguire was from him?

Or is this the modern day keeper who stays rooted to their line?

Pundits were saying ‘If they get Isak then just hand them the league’. Absolutely no where near winning games never mind competitions.

The new lads haven't been great, but neither have the lads that romped home last season.

Mo, Mac, Konate have been shocking. Grav, Virg, Bradley and Gakpo havent been great. Only Ali and Szoboslai have been anywhere near the required levels.

That many players 'off form' at the same time suggests to me that it's systematic.

                              • Gakpo was our biggest goal threat today, hit the woodwork three times (once from a deflected cross) and missed a header from about 4 yards.
Fine margins maybe but he really should have scored at least two of those and probably three, enough to have won the game.

At least he was getting in position for getting chances. Gawd knows where Isak was most of the time. Forgot he was on the pitch in the second half
