If only both teams could lose.

        • Real a long way from that machine of a team from a few seasons ago.

          • After game 6 of 8 in the Champions League we are outside the top eight on goals scored behind Atletico Madrid, just 1 point behind 3rd place PSG.

Surely we can get into the top 8, with just Marseille away and Carrier Bag at home to come.

              You'd certainly hope so.

Besides us having to handle our own business (fingers crossed) I'd be looking quickly at a side or two above us and seeing who they have to play, in the hope we can catch/overtake.

Inter's remaining 2 fixtures for example are Arsenal and Dortmund. You'd hope we might be able to usurp. Really drives it Home that we have a very good chance, provided we put good performances in.

Well depends if milan have watched us, i'm sure every team does these days but you never know

He's more predicitable than konate doing something rash or giving away some stupid fouls, or looking like he's on a different planet.

I'd give rio a go at this point, at least he has pace to burn, help him develop more... and generally no pressure...

If liverpool making feel anyone down... yes we love the club and all that... but winter can be bad enough for some people.... remember it's just a game..... remember we're not Wolves...... with 2 pts from 15....... remember last season and recent times..... don't be sad it's over be happy it happened..... and this squad with a few additions will be back next season.....

For now, take a breath, and roll with it, that's football....... it's a rollercoaster....... especially us...... would be a bit boring otherwise wouldn't it ?like Bayern in germany, but that's just my opinion
                Just seen this Kev.
You're absolutely right. It is only a game. I genuinely used to get pissed off for days on end when I was young and defeats obviously bother us all but as I've got older and the game just gets further away from working people affording it I give less of a fuck.
We've been blessed the last few years and even I lean times have always had something to be happy about so we should be grateful. There's clubs who've toiled for a long time and had no form of glory.
Like you say we'll be back.

                  I agree......

Honestly mad to say after lately, but if we can click at some point, i see no reason why we can't win it, injury's permitting... but it's ifs and buts.......

I know it's a bit optimistic... but we do have the first 11 to compete..... on paper.

Yep...really looking forward to Marseille at the Velodrome - crazy ground...not easy but we can win.

Also we've gotta 'recycle' the ball much better and not just 'throw away' possession in the home game..

We're perfectly capable of winning it.

I wouldn't massively back us to do so right now, but we know how Cup Football works and we know how European Football works.

Bit of luck with injuries, bit of luck with the draw, bit of luck with which teams gets knocked out - and so on.

Applies to everyone. Finished behind Everton in 04/05 but we won Big Ears - stranger things have happened.

                      • Only ONE player in Europe has played more than Szoboszlai & Van Dijk – a warning for Slot

Dominik Szoboszlai and Virgil van Dijk have played the second-most minutes of any outfielder in Europe’s top five leagues, with the pair flying dangerously close to the red zone.

Makes a welcome change around here. Too many glory hunters for optimism.

Winning it is a bit of a long shot. Though I don't see many of the traditional big teams ripping it up. Madrid looked terrible against City. Barcelona are just scraping into the play off places at the minute. I'm not sure about PSG. Maybe Bayern are in good form? But there's a long way to go. And we've won it with a worse team.

                            If they break we're screwed.

We have no chance of resting virgil. So unfortunatly there is a higher chnace of him breaking down.

Let's hope January brings us a shiny new cb.

Naah - surely not..we're an elite club worth £5 billion.

No way we'd be so remiss as to leave ourselves totally dependent on playing a 34 year old in every sodding game worth a light...?
