I still think Salah will come good. Don't believe it's sudden age, he's a specimen, it's psychological, he'll sort himself out.

I honestly think it's both.

He definitely isn't as quick - perhaps he can still sprint quickly after he has built up a run over 40+ yards or something (?) but that accelerative burst isn't what it was and he definitely needed it.

Has the talent to reinvent himself a bit and maybe provide opportunities for other players, but in our cold/analytical approach from upstairs I don't see that, combined with his age, being enough to justify £400,000 per week.

He does look slower, true, but not all his disappointing moments this season have to do with lack of pace.

I think our cold analytical boys upstairs need to ask why they gave such a big contract to an old man.

I still think he'll be gone in the summer but not before his swan song, the candle burns brightest at the end and all that.

Nearly everything he tries this season just doesn't come off.

He's still a top player but he's not gonna be the mo we have known. I could see him in a 10 role but don't think with his wages that would happen.

I was a big advocate for him to play through the middle when he got older. He's got the vision. But he's not going to play there now with Wirtz in the team.

I'd still love to have him in and around the squad, but we can't be paying £400k a week for a squad player.

I'm still surprised we didn't go for Semenyo.

March 9th (or 11th) in the Champion's League will come around pretty quick - if he could find some form for us entering that game and hold it for the rest of the season (no pressure Mo!) it would be ridiculously useful.

Noticeable that both wide forwards were most frequently further forward than the 9 and we were looking to release them though

Wouldn’t hurt to work with Ekitke on dropping for the ball some of the time for them to be released or to release them to then be able to make a run to come onto the ball and for Wirtz of Szobo to do the same, maybe getting ahead of him
and then assisting him

Not worked out in too many games with Teacake always furthest forward and the main focal point

Hopefully Mo improves on that Brighton performance over the rest of the season. Then he can be moved on and his £400K per week wages freed up. Gakpo can go in the summer too and his £200K per week put to better use next season.
