Was just drafting something similar. but also to say - he was slated after his form went south after the fallout with Rafa… the bad press ramped up after he said the club was a sinking ship… TBF H&G were at the helm.
He fell out with Rafa but he was a big part of the 2009 season - Us rated at best side in Europe and where we should have won the title. 86 points we took up against Ferguson’s strongest ever United - only time they made 90 points in a 38 game season. - Romans Chelsea too… 3rd place took 83 points…

Downing however - yea the lad was bang average
So is gakpo that's my point
Been a long time since the wide attackers have been so shite.

Agree. I expect we'll address that in the summer. Gakpo has been given his chance and just isn't up to it. He's not a bad player just not a title winning starter. Mo is done.
I think it’s pretty clear even to those who were - imo - bat shot crazy and trying to equate him with Diaz.
It’s that kind of miss management of the club that is a huge worry. As for paying Mo the big wages - I can’t blame the club for that. Most of us wanted it. He was posting record numbers less than a year ago. There were a few - perhaps Sid I am not sure but there were some who suggested it was a folly, In hindsight - to date they would appear to have been proven right on that. Either way it means the club has got both wrong.
I said Wagbo was having his best season last time through new baby bounce but he needed to use that to permanently up his game and he’s slumped back to where he used to be which was decent squad player never a starter
