Yes. We need pace desperately. Frimpong has it. We need movement and purpose. I think we have good players but there's little movement. Once or twice we moved it quickly today and immediately looked much better for itFrom the moment I picked your book up until I laid it down, I convulsed with laughter. Someday I intend on reading it. Gakpo isn't slow by any means. Ekitike is lightening quick. As is Frimpong. Rio looks quick but not ready yet. Mo used to be quick
I think we have enough pace in the team but remember, we haven't seen them all on the pitch together very often. Give it time.

Agree Jimmy letting Diaz and Nunez go was a huge error
Pace and trickery and pace abd power and now we have neither
We need at least 2 forwards a LFWD & a RFWD Gakpo is a good squad player never should be a starter"If Everton were playing at the bottom of my garden, i'd close the curtains”

I agree either way the others not gakpo , he’s slow off the mark , I’d like to see a time with as much pace as we can get on field , and Rio isn’t ready so I discount him a little bitOriginally posted by JockStrap View PostGakpo isn't slow by any means. I couldn't hack the tunes on the team bus if I was the other players though -Originally posted by Nineteenx View PostAgree Jimmy letting Diaz and Nunez go was a huge error

It's funny, his numbers have improved in the last 3/4 games (2 goals and an assist) but I actually think his performances have dropped off...
Like any player that comes into a struggling team, it's hard to judge a player's 'success' when everything around them is falling apart.
Look at Isak, does anyone genuinely think we've signed a dud? Sure, we might have overpaid for him but he's obviously better than what we've seen from him so far.
Unfortunately, I think most are going to continue to struggle (including those that were part of the title winning squad) playing in the current system...Something, Something, Something, Dark Side

It's looking increasingly that way. It's really hard to imagine that a decent manager couldn't come in and get the team playing some good stuff again. Use the strengths we have: Szobo, Frimpong, Wirtz, Ekitike, Grav, VVD, Alisson, Bradley: there's more than enough to get us playing well....it's not the quality of players. All those players would get in most sides in the league. Why can't Slot get them to play some decent go-forward football? It's embarassing how poor we are right now. We're struggling against Wolves, Fulham, Leeds, Spurs (who are poor right now), Forest....Originally posted by Steveo View PostThat suggests the manager isn't up to the task. If that's the case then it suggests that he did absolutely nothing last season to win the Title, which obviously isn't true.
But whatever he is doing this season isn't working. Unless he changes it, he'll end up getting the sack.
The worry I have, is that he's saying that nothing has changed in the way we are playing this season, compared to last, which simply isn't true. Whilst we're still playing 4-2-3-1 the set up, positional play and ball progression is completely different.
I don't agree that we have to go back to playing Kloppball, there's more than one way to skin a cat. But using a big rusty spoon to skin the said cat isn't the best way to do it...Something, Something, Something, Dark Side

He obviously did something right last season but is it a case of him being found out this season. Last season was just a tweaking of what was essentially the same team from the previous season. Even then, I don't remember us being that great to watch last season and we were very reliant on Mo to turn up with a goal every game. We also had a lot of players to use for rotation to help keep first team players fit. This season the squad istripped right down which hasn't helped.Originally posted by jozza800 View PostIf that's the case then it suggests that he did absolutely nothing last season to win the Title, which obviously isn't true.

The over-riding feeling is that we don't have a way to play: can't see any pattern to it.From the moment I picked your book up until I laid it down, I convulsed with laughter. Someday I intend on reading it. Groucho Marx

You absolutely can see the pattern to it. It's not a good pattern, but you can definitely see it...Originally posted by Red October View PostHe obviously did something right last season but is it a case of him being found out this season.
