Fine. We can just ask Gooner Steve for your opinion going forward. No need for you here.Originally posted by Nineteenx View PostBy reading you clown 🤡
Which squad are you talking about because he plays in this current one very well. Gooner Steve?Originally posted by Nineteenx View PostI’ve been quite clear that I believe Wirtz is a top player but one who doesn’t fit how the rest of the squad plays

Look at last seasons go accept he’s only looking good as the players are under obvious instruction to okay everything short and through Wirtz which is sticking out brilliant direct ability all these players played a huge part in winning the league and stifling the creativity direct running and flair of players we have better than Wirtz
His presence means we’re constantly a forward light which is why we struggle to break lines like Ekitike did v Burnley for the goal
That were too obvious and low in the built up
That we consistently pass up opportunities to release our players in wide areas and Ekitike because it’s a longer direct pass Slot clearly doesn’t want
Szoboslai Gravenberch & Macca were the best midfield 3 last season and the heartbeat of the team, we didn’t need a designated playmaker or to change anything we needed to keep our best players and strengthen our front three and CBs
Wirtz needs to play LCM like Coutinho did as well get nowhere continuing as detailed above
Remember Slot is trying to put in once a Dutch game he’s never implemented as a manager when Guardiola who learned from Cryuff himself gave up in it in 2020
Just think about the staggering arrogance of that, Slot thinking he can do something that Guardiola has accepted is no longer viable in the Premier League because too many sides are too good at the low block, at pressing and counter pressing setting traps where they will nick it and at countering from there"If Everton were playing at the bottom of my garden, i'd close the curtains”

Wirtz is the thorn in our side never should have bought him
How many times this system of play is obsolete a thing of the past what I want from last season it the system that wins and is current"If Everton were playing at the bottom of my garden, i'd close the curtains”

I am with the time Slot’s the one living in the past with this long outdated system of play
There are very good fucking reasons no other major club is trying to play like this
The simplest being it no longer works and trying to do it with a 1980’s style playmaker makes it even worse 😂"If Everton were playing at the bottom of my garden, i'd close the curtains”

Think you're just trolling at this point, especially after saying wirtz is one of our worst players, and some other bangers you've come out with lately, i come on this forum after work like today and I see 19x in every thread last post, most of it is ok, some is purely incredible to read, really is.Originally posted by Nineteenx View PostWirtz is the thorn in our side never should have bought him

Have a break lad, you're losing it, I hope you're ok in real life because this is not normal.
Do you have ADHD ?in the nicest possible way.Last edited by Kev0909; 19 January 2026, 11:28 PM.

He’s an exceptionally gifted player we didn’t need, we had last seasons best midfield three our full backs and CBs at times making the playOriginally posted by Kev0909 View PostThink you're just trolling at this point, especially after saying wirtz is one of our worst players, and some other bangers you've come out with lately, i come on this forum after work like today and I see 19x in every thread last post, most of it is ok, some is purely incredible to read, really is.

Not the worst in terms of ability, in terms that his presence and Slot’s seeming insistence everyone else plays through him and everything is played short is really damaging us and inhibiting other plays performance
Szobo and Macca were both arriving in the 10 position from the midfield 3 to brilliant efffect for 1 thing it’s our paid to and why Macca especially isn’t at the same levels
Also moving into the space into the ball is always more effective than standing in a line between defenders motionless expecting a perfect pass or cross
Wirtz presence also means we’re constantly a forward short and why we’re struggling to create Ekitike made our goal v Burnley by beating 2 players you’d expect our LFWD to be doing
I’ve seen Van Gaal try this system and fail at Barca sexing time and the filthy I’ve seen Guardiola the master of it give it up in the Prem 6 years ago - I’ve seen Ten Haag try and import his Ajax system and several players and fail
That’s why I’m so vehement it’s a non starter
It’s not that I don’t appreciate Wirtz is a special talent, we didn’t need him, playing through him and always short by instruction will obviously give him far more opportunities to impress while stifling Macca Szobo Grav and the lone wide forward and full backs
He’s a great player in another league, no-one’s playing this system anymore with good reason and he was bought for it"If Everton were playing at the bottom of my garden, i'd close the curtains”

Yeah, them together look like they've played for years at times... hopefully salah joins in and a new LW in the future, unless he can be the same with ekiteke on the left and isak as no9 or something.Originally posted by JockStrap View PostI'll tell you what, Wirtz and Ekitike are unreal. They are going to be an unbelievable partnership for years to come.
In the pre-match build up it was mentioned that we had been tracking Ekitike for 6 years until we finally got him.

Wirtz was better tonight bar his woeful missed opportunity, through being less involved Szobo released Ekitike too with Wirtz and Ekitike it seems to be Ekitike setting Wirtz up more than the other way around
A big difference for me was the mids and full backs picking up counter pressing positions in their first line leaving themselves space to run into and join attacks"If Everton were playing at the bottom of my garden, i'd close the curtains”
